The Bite doesn't come close to being the ball the Virtual is! The Bite does just that and the guys that I know that has the Bite, it doesn't have near the reaction as the Virtual. I've drilled both for people and the Virtual is very impressive! Just my $.02, Bruce

Sleepy,

I am curious on why you say the Virtual is a turd.  I believe this is at least the second post you have stated this.  Could you please provide some information on why you feel that way.  It appears that most love the ball.

The Virtual IMO is a far superior ball to the BW Bite. I have owned and thrown both balls..

It will for sure handle more oil than the BW Bite and to me the carry of the Virtual was much better..

As far as the Virtual being a turd, I dont but that comment, sorry.. I have seen alot of people with different styles throw this ball and all have done very well with it..

Its also a very user friendly ball that can bu used on a variety of different lane conditions..

I didn't mean to start a ball sucks war. I was just looking for a good Med-Heavy ball with good length and great backend to play alongside my Cell which rolls early and smooth on Med-Heavy. My Bite rolls good, but alwasy looking to improve on my game.

It sounds like the VG may fit what I'm looking for, along with the new power swing.

The Virtual is a very good ball.  The cover can be changed for your particular needs.  Some have found that OOB 4000 is spot on.  Some need to take it down & add polish & others just take it down.  There are so many good reviews on this ball.  I have one at 4000 & probably will take it down a notch after using one more time.  I highly doubt Labeef even has one or seen it thrown.  Like I said in a previous post, the ball is only as good (or turd) as the one throwing it.

I'm about to take mine down to 1500 and put some snake oil on her to see what kind of reaction shape and location difference that will make.  The OOB R2S coverstock of the Rapid Fire Solid seems to avoid reading the pattern for me a little better than the VG's OOB 4000 abralon.  I think this clearly falls into the category of "too much time on my hands", but I could be wrong.

I've owned both balls and I ended up trading in my Bite for a T-Road Pearl.  I like the smooth continuous arc of Storm balls, found the Bite had too much of a skid/snap reaction for my taste.  I also though the Bite needed much more oil than I usually see, while with a few adjustments (hand, speed, target) I can play the Virtual on almost anything but light oil or dry.

On the other hand, there is a guy in my league who uses his Virtual on lane conditions I find too dry for my T-Road Pearl, so I agree with those who say a ball is only as good as the bowler who is throwing it.

Dougb, I agree w/the skid/snap assessment of the "Bite".  Our captain has one & when the lanes are right & he's on that ball is a monster snapping back to the pocket.  But there's been quite a few times where he's had to go back to his old Vortex V2 Power or his xxxL(sp?) spare ball for the remainder of the night.  JMO, the Virtual has more versatility compared to the "Bite".

VG is too close to the cell in oob, you will need to change surface and/or drilling to get the look you seek. Personally getting the Grand Illusion with a pin up drilling would give you exactly what you are looking for without the MB being a hit or miss deal.

The Bite is a good ball but a step down in power from the VG, i use the same drillings on almost every single high MB ball on purpose. Makes it easy to compare apples to apples, if you want the high end piece go with the VG and then polish it up.

I'll say this, by the few games I've bowled with my VG, its a MONSTER.  Has plenty of hook in OOB condition.   I'm leaving this ball as my heavy oil ball cuz it really gets down the lane but makes a nice strong move to the pocket and doesnt quit.   you can check out my video's of me throwing the VG on youtube by searching COOLLUVR4U1976.   And you'll see how much the ball hooks.   Also I have pics of the drilling i have on this ball on my bowlspace site.
