Title: Virtual Energy replacement?
Post by: jaydee on February 15, 2012, 01:03:56 AM
I realize that you might be able to find VE's NIB in some places still, but they are definitely harder to find (15lb in particular).  I'm not looking for one specifically right now.

Just wondering what in Storm/Roto's lineup that is close to the Virtual Energy.  I don't have a ton of equipment, but the VE is my best ball for my med-heavy oil league night.  It looks like the new Modern Marvel uses the same R2X hybrid cover, but it's a symmetrical core, is this the supposed replacement?

Yes cover is the majority of your ball motion, so the same cover will give you the same read point on the lane.  You will have to use a weight hole to push the MB to what would have matched that ball's motion downlane if the mass was away from the thumb by more than an inch or so.

The VE was a one of a kind ball. The Modern Marvel wont be near as much on the backend. I was hoping the Vivid wouldve been a hybrid assymetrical, its not, its a solid. So id say to wait or possibly look at an Infinite Theory, if thats the hybrid from Roto.
