Wow, looks like a beautiful ball.

Do the hybrids replace what used to be pearl-particles like the regular Shift?  If not, how does this ball or another ball from any brand compare to the regular Shift?  The reason I'm asking is because no matter what new ball (solid or pearl) I buy, it seems I always go back to my Shift, my ole standby.  My other favorite is the Attitude Shift.

Here's a thought for you grammar police: Have your own backyards cleaned up before trying to clean up others.

A.K.A. Monster Puke, it's catching on....

Isn't the Second Dimension a pearl particle (aka mica)?

Just a thought, but it sounds like you might like the Shift and Attitude Shift so well not only because of the covers, but because you match up well with the higher RG cores those balls have compared to the Virtual Gravity or Gravity Shift.  Something to think about.

Yeah, but it's symmetrical.  I have a Dimension & I just don't match up w/it that well.  I also have a Special Agent (sym) that I don't match w/well either.  So I'm kind of hoping this Virtual or even the Rogue may be what I'm looking for.  But I don't want to spend a couple hundred again to find out it's not the right ball, again.

I do know the Shift is still available but I'm not in a position to buy a new ball just yet.  So the newer the product is, the longer it will be available in the future when I'm ready to buy.

Interesting point, and quite plausible.

However, I have both the Shift and the Virtual Gravity, and absolutely love both of them, which goes to show that there exist so many different variables when trying to figure out what works--yet more reason to love the game.

So it's not just an Assym vs. Symm thing?  I noticed that the Hy-Road & new Hot line have higher RGs than the new Premier & Master lines.  So would I match better w/them?

The Dimension and Special Agent both are lower RG balls, bear that in mind.  I only carry one higher RG ball in my bag (Spit Fire) because it tends to lope down the lane, which with my release normally hangs corner pins, but is great for drier lane conditions, or when I need to come around the ball and have it snap off the spot.  It's a completely different kind of motion from what I get with my lower RG equipment, which is much rollier and picks up sooner on the lane.

Have you considered picking up a used Hy-Road or T-Road Pearl for cheap as an experiment?  Or maybe even a new Fast or Furious?

We had the same thought around the same time, LoL. I posted right above yours asking the same thing.

Except for my spare ball, I don't have anything except hybrid coverstock balls in my bag. I find this gives me more room for error - always a good thing. This ball should fit right into the arsenal - lots of bling too

I tend to use different Rg balls for different conditions but I do think the coverstocks finish and aggressiveness or lack there of, is at least an equal or greater contributor to how the ball works for me on each condition.

i would probably be strong enough but on tougher patterns i find its more important for the ball to go the correct length rather than over all strength. i personally go with the dimension because its earlier. then when the line starts to burn you could go to the virtual or second dimension.

Without throwing it yet, I feel the Energy will be like the Second Dimension is to the Dimension.  Similar overall motion with more length and stronger kick at the back.  And it's this notion that has me very excited about the ball.

I've resisted the urge to get the Virtual Gravity as my Dimension gives me a good look on the soup but I've been anxiously awaiting the release of this bad boy since it was announced.  Look forward to getting 2 of them for Nationals in June.  Reviews (and video if I can get it to work) will follow.
