virtual gravity or invasion
« on: January 31, 2011, 09:11:39 PM »
I'm ordering a few new balls and plan to get a new premier line ball.  I have not had a strong solid in a while.  I know the nano is coming out but I'm getting either a virtual gravity or invasion.  Which would be better.

VG. The Gravity will play a wider range of conditions and doesn't burn up so easy once the lanes transition.

Most guys that bought the Invasion have since moved on to.something else whereas I still see quite a few Gravity's on the rack.

Agree with Complete. The VG is a special ball. The core/cover match is phenominal.

Those replies sound pretty good.  I was geared towards the virtual gravity anyway. Thanks for the input!

If you are looking at a VG I would wait for the VG NANO.

definitely a virtual gravity I gave my old man an invasion for father's day and it is definitely not good. I have a VG myself and will not change to any other solid bowling ball unless it is either another VG or possibly the VG Nano once it comes out but first have to see reviews. but between vg and invasion 100% VG!!!

I agree.  I think my Invasion lasted a week before I sold it.  It was just too much ball no matter what surface or pattern I tried it on.

I stone 8s and 9s like its cool...

Yeah the nano is getting released soon, but I don't think the nano is going to clear and attack like the original.  With the new cover and surface enhancements, do you think the nano will be smoother overall. Especially downlane.

No brainer. Have them both. VG rolls better at any finish. Like poster said above, a really special ball.

+ 1 on the VG.  Had the Invasion, that ball stunk.  I would have gotten another VG if I had known.  Finally ended up selling it.  The only time the Invasion did anything was one week when the lanes were flooded from gutter to gutter 45 feet down.  I had to rip the cover off it and it would bend 3 boards.

Balls in the bag and order they come out:
#1-Anarchy #2- Virtual Energy  #3- Virtual Gravity #4- Gravity Shift #5- Big Hit (spare and really dry)
#6- Teal Rhino Pro (oldie but a goodie)

doubt it... thats why they have low end stuff.
seems like the nano is a beefed up orig VG.  cover wise

I think you'd be better served talking with someone that knows your game a little.  I can never understand asking a group of non-professionals about what ball would be good for YOU.  What might be better for some, might not work out well for you.

You've just been handed a little TLC

I have decided on the original virtual gravity.  I have one right now but have not used it in a year or so.  Mine had a 6 inch pin to  pap with a 6.5 inch mass bias to pap.  I did not lay it out and it doesn't roll good for me.  I'm going to put a comfort layout on my new one.  I'm going to put the pin an inch above my fingers at five inches from my pap.  Then the mass bias will be on my grip line just above my thumb.  With that layout I'm expecting decent length with some midlane control due to the cover followed by a strong controlled backend reaction.

The intelligent thing would be to ask your ball rep this question, or at least to listen to the one person in the post who has a clue? Or are you to full of yourself to take the advice of a great player?

Not full of myself at all I take advice all the time from People better than myself.  Doesn't mean o can't discuss stuff here.  Again noone is forcing you to read and post. I can  ask who I want.  There are plenty of people on here that know what they are talking about.  Then there are people that just need to cause trouble about posts.  I'm here talking bowling with people that actually want to talk bowling.
