I bought a Vivid about 10 weeks ago and have only 30 games on it.The problem is I cannot get this ball to hook.Been back to the pro shop twice,,,he change the suface to 1000 grit and change the pitch on the thumb because I felt like I was loosing the ball at the bottom of my swing.I bowl on a THS so this ball should hook.
Specs...15lbs 3oz...Top 3.31 oz...Pin 3-3.5
Nothing seems to help. Any Suggestions

Do u bowl on wood? I use this only with synthetics becuase on wood lanes this thing burns up at the arrows..and doesnt hook a board, now on synthetics im lucky to get 2 full games on a fresh ths.  On fresh syntetics with ample head oil there is no better ball...but at the same time i have to know when to bag it.  It is a rolly-er VG nano...and hook isnt always at the last 10 feet of your shot.  This ball could be hooking as soon as you set it down...especially @ 1000....on wood mines puke brooklyn every shot.

A few a drilling gurus on the sight will probably wanna know your specs and your drilling as that also may be a factor.  Also unless your THS is a flood of oil...idk 1000 will help...knowing mine it would hinder the ball and make it "hook" earlier and visually less.  Id be going the other way with the grit...like 4000.

Synthetic lanes...on a THS. Seems like ball just burns up..skids past break point.

My Vivid rolled like garbage until I polished it. It was like throwing a new bowling ball

The vivid needs a lot of oil up front to get it down lane. With the strong solid cover, without oil, the ball's burning up before it reaches the breakpoint. The ballis designed for heavy oil and not to cover an insane amount of boards. Certain people can, but for the most part, no you're really not going to cover a huge amount of boards with the Vivid.

I felt the same way about my Vivid.  I tried various surfaces.  I recently found success with 1000 abralon and then a light polish.  It will not have that hockey stick look that you normally associate with Storm.  It is more like a car changing lanes on the interstate.  It drifts toward the pocket.  The carry is very good.
