Looking For a Storm for dryer conditions
« on: March 20, 2007, 11:03:25 AM »
Hi everyone. I have been bowling for around 30 years on and off,but with a promotion in my job 2 years ago,I was able to commit to bowling regularly now,and bowl Mondays and Fridays, and sub on Saturdays. I currently am averaging around 207 in all my leagues. I am not up on all the terms or drilling patterns on the new balls, but would like some advice if someone can help. Around 2 and a half years ago I bought my first Storm ball,a PBT Eraser, and still love the ball. I found a guy on Ebay, selling brand new Eraser, screamin banshees, around 6 months ago for starting bids of only $9.99.Well I won one for $18.50 I like this ball a lot. I stand with my right foot around the 12 board from the left, and swing it down to the right over about the 14 board to the 8,and it works well when the lanes are a little on the oily side, when they break down some and it gets hard to control I use the PBT with pretty good success. I Finally bowled my first 300, 3 weeks ago with the banshee. My problem is I would like a storm ball that hits like the two I have now,but for dryer lane conditions so I won't have to change the whole way I am holding the ball. I have gone to turning my wrist sideways to take off the hook on real dry lanes. If anyone can recommend a good ball for this I would appreciate it. It doesn't have to be the latest ones out there,It could be an older model that might still be available. Thanks very much for any help.

Yeah, possibly the Tropical line OR the Jolt Pearl. The Jolt will be more of an EVEN reaction whereas the Tropical has a tendency to overreact on the backend if it catches some oil. It just depends on your preferential look on the cooked stuff.

Best of luck!

Tropical Storms are pretty strong, best bet is to drill it for length and add some additonal polish. Comes 1500, I have mine at 2500 but that's because of a too strong of drilling.

The Hot Rod Hybrid is a great ball for dry lanes. Shot 300 with this ball on
dry lanes on 3/14 the Jolt Pearl as a ACCU-Tread Pearl Reactive coverstock which is stronger the Hybrid coverstock. I have both balls the Hybrid is a great ball that will forgive you more for making a bad shot Right or Left of target down lane. The Hybrid is the first ball with a Solid & Pearl coverstock in one ball that is why it is called the Hybrid. Tropical Storm as the same coverstock as the Agent which is sronger than the Jolt Pearl or Hybrid.
That ball will be STRONG down lane. Do you what a ball that will come flying back on dry lanes?  Hope this HELPS...
Need help with other Storm balls just ask be glad to help out...
