I have not messed with it BUT mine rolls a lot better through oil now that it has a few games on it.
Talked to Schlem about this and he told me that I might be better off when I get a shiny Storm from the factory to just hit it with a 4,000 Ab pad by hand to "break" the cover - about the same as letting it break in over a few games.

But I have not hit my GRAVITY with any major surface ... and don't intend to because I like it so much as is.

I am not a fan of factory polished balls, so i have experimented with a couple of surface finishes for my Gravity.  I have settled on 4000 abralon (not just touched up as riggs suggests but full-on surfaced).  Overall hook is about the same as factory polish but a bit rollier and smoother off the breakpoint.  At 2000 it was a dog for me - bled out too early for a pearl ball.  4000 retains energy but gives it a bit more control.
