what do you think of the new lucid?

well the title speaks for itself. let me know what you all think about the lucid. what layouts did you go with and would you recommend this ball to someone else.
You need to compete for something greater than just winning.
The future belongs to whoever prepares for it.

I'll preface by saying I haven't had time to adjust the surface or throw it a lot yet but.....OOB it is really angular (not a reaction I like to see personally on a THS) The layout I chose was 5 3/4" pin to PAP, MB just right of thumb which put the pin pretty high over my bridge (relatively low tracker).  I needed a stronger pin up ball in my bag as my benchmark is an IQ Tour with a low pin, which is great.

I will say it does create a lot of drive thru the pins and it will have a purpose in my tournament bag, but I don't forsee using it a ton during league sessions.  As of right now my league balls go IQ Tour, Victory Road Pearl, Roto Shout (if needed)

sorry to say i hate mine it hits like a pillow
friend who has one also with a way stronger layout has the same issues

people on our team who was waiting to see how ours reacted are now buying something else
hopefully can find the right cover on it

I strongly suspect you're not using it on enough oil. See my reply just above this one.

Yet there are some guys who want a hybrid cover on a ball like that? Lol! Had to poke fun at that. Mine is sitting in the shop collecting dust because i have no reason or oil to drill and throw it. From what ive seen from the 3 bowlers I've watched throw it, the ball revs quickly in the front like the Critical but is a few boards stronger on the back. I have a Critical I'm punching up later this week for a sport pattern tourney later in the month, eventually I'll get to compare but as for now, one strong pearl asym is more than enough in my bag.

"LOL" i am one of those guys who wants a hybrid cover on everything.  On the right side of the lane most of the time you actually have oil transition, especially when you load up 10 righties on a pair.  Pearl balls are too over under for me, i personally own most of storm and rotos equipment since the cell (2006?)..and hybrids blend the shot out for me...were talking hyroad, rogue cell, virtual energy, infinite theory, Frantic, crossroad...these are awesome peices that, i cant get enough of, and always works great OOB...idk if its hybrid, i want it!
In the bag [Infinite Physix, Volatility Torque, Night Road, Phaze III, Burner Solid, Hustle AU]
*Now Testing* IQ Ruby, Renevant, another IQ Tour solid
Coming soon...???

Quite understandable Bill. I just dont have oil enough to throw anything that strong. I've got a VE sitting plugged up that someone gave me that im still wondering how to drill. More power to you homie! Lol!

All of you saying these bas hit like a marshmallow...its because the ball is obviously burning up. You dont have the oil that warrants a ball like that...get a ball that is condition specific unless you bowl a ton of tournaments...

Yeah my critical burned up mostly cuz i throw it like a wimp! Like 15mph, but i plan to use my lucid with my pin down vivid on synthetics, besides its nothing a lil step 2 cant fix! Haha...

Pocket splits are a part of bowling. If its reacting fine then don't mess with it, changing the cover isn't gonna improve carry, jus change the shape of the balls reaction.
