Short oil pattern 5' to 5'

What would be a good storm ball for a short oil pattern from 5 to 5.  Was thinking the Tropical Storms.  Any others?

I find on shorter patterns it's more my hand position than anything.  Target outside breakpoint, use the "broken" wrist and you can score well.  If you have a ton of hand, get a weak ball with a short pin to pap to prevent monstrous backends.

It depends on the volume of oil put out as well. If you've seen people on here post about the Cheetah pattern(35-36') in their PBA leagues some are using agressive balls and others are using milder equipment. This is because the oil volume and lane surface come into play as well. I've seen both ends of the spectrum and have used everything from a Cell down to a highly polished Spit Fire on shorter patterns.

If it's a medium to lower volume short oil, a Tropical could work or one of the Street Rods.

Other options besides the ones n00dle mentioned that might work:
Stay behind the ball getting more forward roll so it doesn't jump off the dry boards on the back of the pattern.

Increase your ball speed.

I tend to avoid balls that jump off the spot. Close pin to pap layouts work well, as well as using lower pins with surface. Stronger balls that can burn energy sooner are good options, as well as weaker solid covers with surface and rolly layouts. Like guy above said, street rod solid or similar with pin axis, or close to axis will stretch the pattern out.
