WHAT SURFACE TO USE?

Here is the oil pattern picture.
http://www.bowl.com/Downloads/pdf/tournaments/YouthOpen/08lanes.pdf
I have a Secret Agent 1000 grit and a Special Agent 2000 grit. I want to change the surface on them for this tournament but I don't know what to change them to for this oil pattern. Any help will be appreciated.
Also check out my videos in my signature. Comment on them also.

Without seeing your videos thanks to my work's firewall, I would say you could go "out of box" and be fine. This pattern seems similar to Reno's USBC Open pattern last year. It was very playable. I used a Black Widow and SR300 both at 4000 grit dull.
By your stats though, you might want to leave them as is. The real issue no matter your surface prep is accuracy. Control the pocket and leave easy spares. Try not to get the ball out wide.

Thanks. I had a very similar mind-set to try and control the pocket but leaving easy spares makes it alot easier.

Looks like you can play outside a bit. I would keep them the same and just kind of play how the lanes will let you play! There is so much to seeing a shot on paper, until you actually bowl on a pair, will you know what you are doing.

Take some scotch brite and make adjustments after you throw some practice.

I would like to use some Scotch Brite but in the tournament rules it says after your first shot in practice what surface is on your ball is what it stays at. I would try to sneak it in but if I get caught it is automatic no warning disqualification. I don't want to risk that.

I'd say your Secret Agent should work well, and maybe take the Special Agent to 4000 Abralon and then scuff it with scotchbrite
