A while back I purchased a couple of used balls (T-Road Solid & Rapid Fire) along with a new cell. My arsenal now looks like this:-

Cell (New OOB)
T-Road Solid (Used OOB)
Rapid Fire (Used OOB)
Xception (Used OOB)
Smokin Inferno (Used OOB)

Now I don't have money to buy new stuff (Cell was first "New" ball purchase in about 6-7 years) and I want to have equipment to not only meet all the general lane conditions but to give me different looks as well.

The Cell is going to be my heavy oiler, the Rapid Fire my benchmark ball and the Xception/Smokin inferno my med-med dry balls. What I want to know is what kind of set up I should get for the T-Road so that it fits in between my Cell and Rapid Fire. There was talk about getting it sanded to 600 and then polished but not sure what kind of look this would give.

Any help/advice would be most appreciated.

I personally don't like polished bowling balls and I only have 1 for when I can't get anything else through the heads. Everyone says they want control and yet all they talk about is how they polish their balls as much as they can. That just gives over/under on a house shot and it makes it too easy to throw it through the break point on anything else. I would take the cell to 1000 or 2000 if 1000 is too much. I would have the t-road at about 2000, it will make the ball smoother and more controllable. The rapid I would take it to about 4000 or lightly with 2000 depending on how well it takes surface adjustments. Then the xception at 4000 and the smokin polished so you can have a ball that will always get through the heads.

The solid for me is probably one of the most versatile balls I've thrown since the v2 sanded. I have had it from 800 to 4000 grit Abralon and loved every dull surface. I have yet to try it polished, though. A friend of mine took his to 2000 then polish and he loves it. It created a skid flip reaction with incredible continuation. 600 and polish would be really smooth with a early midlane read. Don't be afraid to play with the surface it is very friendly.
