What to do?
« on: January 29, 2009, 10:52:45 PM »
Ok everyone I have a little bit of a problem. I ordered a Gravity Shift last week but when I got the ball yesterday it wasn't the Gravity but instead the Virtual Gravity. So here is my question do I keep the VG or do I try and get the Gravity that I ordered? My main concern is that I have read the reviews on here and heard that the VG is really strong, and I don't normally see a whole lot of oil so I don't know if it is worth keeping such a strong ball. Any ideas?

The Virtual Gravity is a great ball, but needs a whole lot of oil to get down the lane.  Based on your stats and the fact that you don't usually see a lot of oil, the pearl coverstock on the Gravity Shift would probably be a better fit for what you need.  I think your best option would be to get in touch with the company you ordered the ball from and let them know about the mix-up.

If you thought you'd be happy with what they sent you then I would keep it, but still make the company aware of the mistake.

Since you don't sound like you are bowling on lanes would allow you to use a strong ball like the Virtual Gravity, then I would get ahold of the company and ask them to send you the correct ball that you bought.  If they can't, then demand and refund and consider taking your business elsewhere in the future.

never let a company get a way with poor customer service..even though you got a good ball by mistake, you need to have the problem resolved.. Get what you paid for and don't let them charge you for sending their mistake back.

Heck, I'd keep it & then order another Gravity.  I used my Virtual into the 3rd game last night before bagging it & finishing w/the Shift for a 250 game.  I also have a Gravity.  It's a little more arcy rolling than the other 2 I mentioned.  They should take care of you if they have any kind of ethics.  Good luck.

The Virtual is slightly cheaper, so keeping the VG is giving up a few bucks.

Friend of mine shined his VG up and shot 742, 279 last game, with it. So from what I could see it can be made to work on a house shot. But if you still want the Gravity make them send it to you. You could also negotiate on the price of the Virtual since they would have to pay for return shipping.

Well, if you have the $$$ keep the VG and just buy another GravityShift, I have both and love them!!!  both are excellent balls in thier own right, so you cant go wrong either way
