How come the Sure Fire didn't last?
« on: January 15, 2009, 01:39:58 AM »
It seems there never was really that much buzz about this ball despite being a Twin-V with a Hybrid cover.  Especially when you consider that the Hy-Road is one of the more popular balls now.  So why was this ball a dud?  Or maybe it was bad timing?

I know you can find them pretty cheap on ebay and at some online proshops, so I thought if the ball is any good I might just pick me up one to go under my RF Solid.

Do not hesitate to pick one up !

I have two hybrids, The Sure Fire and The AMF Code. These balls perform so well, I dont have a notion to buy a Hy-Road. I have shot some huge games with both, and they perform their best when the lanes are on the spooky side.

As dumb as it sounds I have heard on more than one occasion it was because of the color and the marketing approach.

I fully agree with those that recommend to pick one up.  This ball is so smooth and control is excellent.

I really liked the Sure Fire, it is stronger than what Storm made it out to be. One of the smoothes balls I've ever thrown on medium oil. Kind of wish that I'd kept it alittle longer last year.

It was a combo of terrible timing and marketing.  It came out mid summer by time season started there were already new things coming out and noone had interest in it we had one guy that is a hall of famer around here who threw the piss out of it and whacked it with that ball it looked like a great piece too bad it happens alot with the over saturation of equipment out there.  So when is the next great thing coming out, i want it,lol.

I want my share of the bounty but I cant find enough oil for this monster, i dont want to polish it cause it rolls so good now damn I hate dilemmas.

They should have had it polished.  Agressive coverstock for that core.  Like having racing slicks on a civic, what is that going to do?

It didn't sell because it was a ball reaction uncharacteristic from the Storm brand.

You know, kind of like the Fear Factor?

Storm = Skid/Snap, not smooth and controlled...
