2nd dimension
« on: May 29, 2009, 06:27:18 AM »
I am revamping my arsenal right now and I just drilled a Hy Road and I am really impressed. Its 5.25 from pap pin down and I knock the shine down with a 1000 abralon pad by hand. I am thinking of drilling a 2D and I am wondering what kind of reaction I will get compared to the Hy Road.

If the Second is kept in box finish you will see a sharper change of direction at the breakpoint compared to the Hy-Road you described.

The Second Dimension gives me a similar look on the lanes as my Hy-Roads just as a stronger coverstock.  I've got mine at 4 1/2" from PAP w/ no hole, ends up over my ring and it gives a heckuva lot more on the back then my Dimension and more motion than my 3 Hy-Roads (given the same oil pattern.)  The Second allows me to more confidently open the lanes up without getting squirrley at the breakpoint.

I was at a Demo Day thing with Tyler Jensen and Jeff Carter a couple weeks ago.  The reaction there was the exact opposite of backswing.  They hooked similar amount of boards, the HyRoad actually hook a couple more, but the hook was on the back end.  The 2nd Dimension was much smoother at the spot.  HyRoad was very sharp at the breakpoint.  I could open up the lane a little more with the HyRoad, but I struck more with the 2nd Dimension.  Mica type particle in the shell makes it smoother.

Your mileage may vary...

My 2D was way earlier reacting on the lanes than my Hy-Road, it would hook more only on heavier conditions that my Hy-Road skidded to far on. The 2D was much smoother and had a much heavier roll.
