Which Storm ball to get???
« on: March 10, 2004, 08:05:25 AM »
My GF's mom is looking for a ball she rolls a 14 lb at a slower speed and want to generate a good backend yet she has trouble with a monster 2 burgandy reactive it hooks early but has short pin.  Want something to get the ball down the lane with slower speed and good backend.  Any suggestions would appreciate any help from someone who has seen a woman throw some storm balls slow.

get a hot wire...i have one drilled very tame because i have very high revs, but my friend has one drilled for length and backend, and the ball really gets down the lane before it comes back...but it really does come back.  either that or a power charge, which pretty much does the same thing with an aggressive drilling.  either one is good for that type of reaction, and theyu both hit extremely well, but the hot wire is a little cheaper.

Erase This,

To get the ball down the lane, save energy, and generate some back end, you want a pearl reactive resin ball.  If you have some oil, have her try the Power Charge Pearl.  This ball does just what you are wanting.  She might also try and Flash Point, but this ball is stronger than the Power Charge, and she would need some oil for this ball to be effective.

If the lanes are on the dry side, try the Big Hit Pearl.  This ball will work well, and hook less than the Power Charge.

Hope this helps ya....

Thanks everyone I think you have confirmed my ideas.  I had a feeling about the power charge was what I was leaning towards.  We do have oil and she does want it to hook and hit good.  I was also thinking possibly a deuce not sure.  Well any more ideas would be appreciated.

i think u should consider the hot wire as well.  if drilled properly, it will go just as long as the power charge and hit a little harder, at least in my opinion.  they both would be great choices, it just depends how u go about drilling them.  if theres oil on the lanes, the hot wire will probably give you a little more power through the pocket, as ive noticed my friends power charge leaves flat 10's while his hot wire drives and carries.  either of these will be fine...just dont second guess yourself once u make a decision.  u have to make the shots in order to let the ball work, so pick one and dont look back.

My wife has a hotwire,  She throws slow with few revs and the hotwire is probably the best carrying ball she has ever owned.  She has won near $1500 in tournaments this year with it.  Try it, if it is too much ball apply polish.  Best ball for the buck out there, has same cover as Deuce. Hotrod is very good also.  Unless she is a very skilled bowler, she will never need a ball more expensive than these two balls.  Save a few $ and try one.

The Storm line is better than ever. The company is on fire. Just look at whose winning the tournaments. 11 of 19 Tour stops have been won with Storm manufactured balls. The Super Bowl Eliminator was won with a Fear Factor. The Super Bowl High Roller's runner-up was throwing a Re Loaded. Hats off to Storm for SCOREBOARD!
