Rocket - OutCry
« on: February 10, 2015, 04:13:38 PM »
Been out of work for a while so been holding off on any new equipment.  Well new year has been good and I am in buy mode.

Currently dealing with Medium/ Light with Roto Rising Star and Storm Crossroad.  Looking for new stuff and was thinking of combo of Rocket/Outcry, I know the rocket release date is 2/22 but for those on the inside can someone give me an opinion on how these might matchup.
Thanks in advance for your input.

Were you looking to replace the Rising Star and Crossroad altogether?  Or are you looking to have something above those?

This could work fairly well.  The Rocket is designed to be more of a transition ball between the Hy-Road and the former Frantic.  However, I have used both of those balls before and the Rocket has the same cover as both.  The Outcry would have the stronger core between both and it can handle some additional volume.

I see the Outcry being your CrossRoad replacement and then the Rocket as your Rising Star replacement.

This is fascinating reading.

Actually the strongest core of any of the balls is the CrossRoad 2.53 and 0.055 diff.  Then next strongest core is the Rocket...which looks great in videos same coverstock and with core strength of 2.54 and 0.046 diff.

The Next strongest core is the Rising Star 2.55 and 0.42diff, and then finally the weakest core is the Outcry, 2.55 and 0.030 diff.

I have the rising star Skid snappy and big on the backend I also have the UpRoar which for me is a rev slurve core.

If your coverstocks are worn out or you believe that we would like to go to lower flaring balls you are making some good moves.  Fresh coverstocks for up the backers often make them very happy.  Deader coverstocks for around the siders can often make them very happy.

New balls can gladden the soul for all bowlers and ball reviews members with an itch.

Ok, seeing some Rockets on the Doubles broadcast, wondering if anyone has any more input on this topic.

I just visited my pro shop who has a demo ball for the rocket. He said that everyone that throws it seems to love it. He had about 20 pre orders for it. He also says that everyone is having it outhook the crux pearl. This may be a case of it burning up, but he isn't impressed with the crux pearl at all.

I 't know what ball Dom Barrett was throwing in the first game this week but it was a high powered pearl.

Either Roto Hyper Skid or Pearl Crux.  Looked real good to my eye!

On the show, it looked like Dom Barrett was throwing the new Storm Ride which comes out in April.
