For those of you that didnt see my other thread about my virtual energy, I was having serious problems with the ball in oil. It was like water in oil, it didnt move a hair in the oil. So I was thinking of putting some surface on it.
Well tonight, I did, I took a little polish off, and gave it than sheen/shine look. Not to much polish, kind of a rough buff look.

Well the ball turned into a completely different ball. Very smooth arcing through the oil and still read the friction as well as the OOB did. I personally was not expecting it to read the friction as well as it did OOB, but it was definitely VERY close, while now giving it a smooth arcing motion through the oil.

So anyhow, to explain the title of the thread, was open bowling tonight with some friends, and this was the literally the 3rd game after the suface change, I start to get a better feel for the traction the ball now has in the oil. I ended up stringing the front 11. I come up on the 12th and absolutely pure it for the 300. As excited as I was, I go up to my VE only to notice that about 25-30 scratches in the a circular shape around the ENTIRE ball. FML.

So anyhow, I know a few people that can get these surface scratches out no problem without resurfacing the entire ball. Everytime I seem to resurface my stuff, it dies.
So, how could I get these suface scratches out without resurfacing the whole ball?

Every time you resurface the ball dies? I don't get that, you must be inaccurately replicating the surface after if this is the case.

And if you resurface only part of the ball to get the scratches out your technically shaping the ball out of round, you should complain to the center and then if that doesn't get you anywhere just resurface and be there to ensure you get it back to accurate box finish which is not hard to replicate.

There is something very wrong if your ball dies after a resurface.

I agree with tc. If the scratches don't alter the reaction( and you seem to like the reaction with a 300 and all). Great things aren't always the best looking.

Sorry to hear that dude...I have my Emerald Vibe and it looks like 'scarface' on the opposite side of the track. With that being said, if it is not in your track area, I would just leave it like it is if you are skeptical about resurfacing it. Hope this helps..thanks and God Bless!
