Tropical storm problem

My buddy just started bowling recently and got himself a Tropical storm. It hasn't been two months since he got the ball and it is starting to "spider web" around the finger holes and the pin.  I just noticed it last night and it appears to be pretty bad. How would the pro shop fix this? would they drill it out and then plug it or would they replace the ball because it is such a big area?
 
I'm wondering because he is going to take it to the pro shop tomorrow after our league. Let me know, thanks.

When a ball does this IF I like the ball I just plug it and re-drill it in the same spot. I have just a 1/8 bridge and use inserts so I have had a few balls (Storm and other companies, too) do this over the years.

It is really bad around the bridge, but it has actually done it all around the finger holes, not just the area between them.  It's also not just around the bridge, its also around the pin. That is what really surprised me is the cracks around the pin.

I'm guessing your friend will need a new ball. Have him call Storm, they might send him a replacement.
