Ball for carrydown

I have a 15 lb Columbia Action I use for oil.  It works great on fresh oil and stripped backends.  But many times in league they don't strip the backends and just put fresh oil on heads.  On carrydown, the ball makes it to pocket but hits weak.

Any Storm suggestions for a strong medium ball that will handle carrydown on synthetic lanes?

Well, I use my Ebonite The One for fresh oil, and I switch to my Storm Pyro when carrydown occurs (usually in game 2 of league nowadays). It is a particle pearl and gets through the heads cleanly with plenty of backend left.

Andy, is your Pyro cover in OOB? What pin distance does it have and how do you have it drilled?  That is a ball I have been seriously considering.

I have kept it in OOB - it was a 2" pin ball that I have drilled in Layout #3 on the Storm drilling sheet. This is 3 3/8" from pin to PAP. This is supposed to be the "high flare" layout for max reaction. I throw hard with medium hand and this gives the reaction I was looking for.

Its been said by a few people in this forum, and i cant argu with the answer...Dark Thunder.  The monsoon on that ball just seems to ignore anything spotty once it sees a dry board

I found the polished light load particle balls from Storm to be nice carrydown options. Polished, for some length, the soft particles give that little smooth extra traction when you need it. Pro-Thane LT is one of my favorite coverstocks around, sad it is gone, but with the re-entry of Accu-Tread, its reactive base, who knows...?
Nothing when the lane dries up, though, then the stuff is too much.
