Special Agent & Thunderstruck Solid

I am looking for something a little earlier and stronger than my Thunderstruck. I was looking at the reaction guide on the website, and if you compare the Special Agent to the Thunderstruck, they seem awfully similar. Now I LOVE my Thunder (drilled #2 drilling, Pin under ring CG kicked out 45 deg.)so to me what would be the major difference if I bought a Special agent or if I got a second Thunderstruck (drilled similar) and gave the cover more surface. I know that the core and cover of the Secret are different, but strictly looking at the reaction guide, I would think a stronger surface(2000 or 1000 abralon), the Thunder would accomplish the same thing, maybe with a little less backend. Some advice please. Thanks

I have both and the Special Agent is about 5+ boards stronger. Earlier and continuous. I love my thunderstruck but the Special Agent is a monster.

Thanks for the response. I guess we can't hold much credence in the ball reaction guide, cause looking at it they are almost identical, except for the cranker

Dude.  How could something be stronger than the Thunderstruck?  I was just playing it from the left gutter last night and I have never done that before.  Is this the difference of playing it from the left gutter and lofting it over the left gutter?

I notice that even the Tweener and Stroker turn earlier in the oil they have there on those ball reaction guides.  It seem that on the same length of oil the Special Agent will start turning earlier.  It looks like a nice controllable arc which I like.

The SA is significantly earlier and more overall than the TS Solid.  The SA is also produces a much smoother reaction.  The increase in hook has got to be the core (the SA has a lower RG and higher DIFF), and the smoother break is the R2S coverstock.  

The Special Agent would be my reccomendation.


I am interested in this ball because it seems like it could work for my style in a high-end ball.  How do you have your surface prepared?  I think I read it was OOB at 2000 grit abralon with no polish.  Is that correct?

SA#1: Drilled to hook, 2000 Abralon OOB Finnish
SA#2: Drilled for length, 4000 Abralon+Brunswick High Gloss Polish


What I like about what you are saying is that your Special Agent is smoother than the Thunderstruck, which I would consider to be very smooth yet big.  You are saying that this will not only hook earlier in oil, but will still be nice and smooth.  This could be a good one to get and tweak the surface around.
