Goof,
I inquired about this as well,.....Storm did email me back and confirmed that both the Tour Power and Erase-it are going away with no "immediate" plans for replacements.

Probably be able to get some great deals on both balls soon......especially if there is an "official" announcement.  A control ball wouldn't be bad as a "secret weapon" in the bag at tourneys.

NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I think that I will give my storm rep a call or just talk to a staffer friend of mine this weekend to confirm.  If they are really killing them than I will be buying a few.

The Tour Power for me is just that Jeff...a GREAT tourny piece to have.  I've done very well with mine on the more demanding / spotty conditions.  At a recent tournament there was as shorter oil pattern with really flying backends.  Instead of having to flatten my wrist out with my other balls, this little gem came out.  A know a lot of people that didn't like this ball...but I am not one of them.

it's probably also a great fresh house shot with screaming backends ball as well!

Tour Power, Erase It, Too Hot, Trauma Response, Trauma Recovery, Trauma ER, Trauma, Ultra Hot, and Thunder Flash all going bye bye, if they haven't already been killed locally in your area.

Some very good balls too.  I would like to get me another Too Hot and Thunder Flash.  Got me a blank Tour Power!!

Mike,

Are you sure the Ultra Hot is going too? I know the Too Hot is gone but didn't hear about the Ultra.

Doug,

Pretty sure, the two bowling supplies that I do regular business with have already quit carrying them.  In fact months ago.  I will do some emailing and see if I can get an official word.

Where did you get that the Charge is "a 2003 Thunder Road Pearl"?  Power Charge has the Core Power LRG weight block with the resin shell from the Hot Rod.  Those two balls are different.  Thunder Road Pearl is a dry lane ball compared to today's balls and the Power Charge.  Power Charge is just as good through the front if not better, with a much more defined move to the pocket.  T Road Pearl revved up really quick, but used up kinda quick, made it very controllable on the back end.

I talked to my Storm Guy, and he didn't know about any repackaging of any of the before mentioned balls.

I will check again, Mongo.

Have a great holiday!!!

Erase It is done officially.  NO plans for repackaging this ball with a different name or color.  Eraser is on the way out also, I am sad to report.  Ultra Hot is done, Too Hot is done, all Trauma balls except Shock Trauma are done.

I will try and report any new balls coming out.  Also, the Reloaded will be out shortly.  I am getting to do some testing, but they haven't told me any name or what kind of shell it is.  Supposedly something BRAND NEW.  I know the test balls I am getting have the X Factor weight block, that is it.

Reloaded should be pretty good.  Pearl particle cover, with a new soft particle in it that nobody has used before.  Supposed to be like a Duece with more back end!!!  Wow!!!

That's all they will tell me for now......

They are getting rid of the eraser...wow!

I can't understand why they are getting rid of both the Ultra Hot and Too Hot?  What is going to fill the gap that both of these balls will leave?  I know about the mega hit coming out...maybe this and a solid version????

I may get in trouble for this one:

1)  There is a new Hit coming out.  Pearl coverstock, supposed to be a little more aggressive than the present Hits.  Also, they are making a running change to the two Hits, going to grind up the Mica particles in the shell material to make it more pearlly and look better.  This is supposed to be a "running cosmetic change".

2)  Eraser has passed the El Nino as the best selling Storm ball of all time.  And yes it is going away.  I'm guessing that they think the Hot Rod is close enough to take the place of the Eraser.  Blaze and Boost are still in the line.

3)  There is going to be a solid Hot Rod, called Hot Wire.  This ball and the new Hit will be out in June or July.  I think He mentioned another ball coming out too.  But I can't remember.

4)  Like I said before, the test balls have no names, no details, and are not the X Factor Re Loaded.

More later.....
Onward through the Storm!!!!

Mike...

I knew about the Mega Hit and the cosmetic change thing.

The Hot Rod basically replaces the Eraser???  No way...the Hot Rod is way to sensitive to the midlane and hooks earlier than the Eraser.  I can get an X-Factor to act like an Eraser a lot easier than the Hot Rod.

The Hot Wire sounds like a good ball for a few of my customers though!

Well I hope the Mega Hit is a good ball and that they come out with something to bridge it and the Hot Rod.  Would be a shame if they didn't!  Maybe a lightning flash re-make of some kind?  LOL...that would be great!

I head the new "Hit" ball was going to be the Mega Hit. I am almost positive I saw it on bowlingballreviews.com. It looked to be blue and orange pearl (Eraser colors). I have both the Eraser and El Nino, and both balls still hook and hit as they did for me when they came out. Too bad the Eraser is going away.
