Hey,
I'm probably going to be getting one of these in a trade soon. Just wondering what you all think of the ball. Any input is appreciated. Thanks,
Zach

Just some information:
Pyro was storm's Mid-priced particle pearl ball in the Fire Line
Discontiunued because of sales
Its only mid-priced, but i shot 299 with it(damn 7 on a mixer)
keep it clean
if you dont keep it clean, you'll sometimes get the huge backend reaction, or nothing at all and it just slides

Discontinued because of sales? I don't know if a ball company is history has admitted that. Anywho, got one sitting in the closet undrilled that I have no idea what to do with guess it won't be an ebay gem since no one bought it in the first place. At least it makes my boardgames smell good.

My thoughts on it, where can I get a NIB?
-
I'll say this for it -- I've seen guys who couldn't hook a ball of sandpaper on the kitchen floor twist this ball a mile.
But by the same token, I don't know to many people who are super-consistent with it, either. Seems to over-under a good bit for many people. I do not own one myself.

Keep your old ball and wait for the new Rapid Fire Pearl, Pyro was not that great compared to the Fired up or Spit Fire.
-
I find the Pyro to be wildly versatile. Very rolly on drier-ish lanes, and very skid/snappy on not so drier-ish lanes. VERY continuous through the deck, and very strong. Carry down never affected mine too much. But if it saw too much oil, it became a dart real fast. Silly Twin-V core.
-
The Pyro shines on spottier lanes, it has a more stable/even read on the lane than e. g. the Fired Up. Definitively not as flippy, overall smoother. But from what I can tell about it, it was not a real oil ball - good for medium conditions, and later games on oilier shots.

I loved my PYRO. But as mentioned above, keep it clean. If not, it will not be the greatest ball. It seemed to be the only ball that I have ever owned that was really sensitive to cleaning. It HAD to be cleaned after every set or the next time I bowled with it I did not seem to get a good read of the lanes.
But overall, I would have to say that this was one of my favorite STORM balls that I have owned.

BOWLING IS FUN NO MATTER WHAT YOU SCORE. BUT A 300 IS ALWAYS NICE.

I won mine at the our State Tournament. It's turned out to be a great ball. I use it when the lanes have broke down and it is great on the Cheetah pattern.
-
The Pyro is the first ball out of my bag. It has a very even reaction on the lane. Very predictable. I bowl a bit straighter with it than other balls. If I need more backend, I switch to my T Road Pearl. I have to move my feet 4/5 boards and 2/3 with my eyes.
The Pyro is definitely not an oiler. A good medium oil ball. It doesn't jump on the backend.

For a particle, this ball can get real flippy, off the dry.

Hello,
This is one of my favorite balls I own.
The Pyro starts it's roll early, but is very clean through the heads with good lenght.
The reaction at the breakpoint is strong, but controllable and predictable. No over / under reactions.
What I like most is, that the ball is very continuous after the break.
The Pyro just keeps going and doesn't roll out.
It isn't my choice for fresh lanes, but after the first game or maybe two, WOW.
I think you will not be disappointed.
All the best,
Antoine

I've only seen 3 or 4 rolled.
It looked very good in every bowlers hands.
I think it looks almost as good as my awesome Awesome revs. A touch smoother still strong almost as strong as my Awesome Revs
Like all pearl particles a great medium condition ball.
I would pick one up in a heartbeat!

Loved mine. Very predictable and very controllable. The pearl got it down the lane cleanly, but the particle made the midlane and backend read consistent and readable. A very good benchmark if you want it to be.
