- Description: The Manufacturer’s Intent for the all new 716C is to be an improved version of 2010’s 715C. On February 2nd, 2010, we introduced the 715C to the world. Since then we have been working on a new-and-improved version, designed to be used in a larger volume of oil but still offering bowlers the controlled arcing motion they expect. We also feel this ball is a more versatile product for the masses. We listened to all the feedback on the 715C – likes and dislikes – from pro shops, consumers and online users. You will notice the Robot core has been adjusted and is much more differential than the Catback core. We upgraded to the all “NEW” UMP Gen5C Solid coverstock and have removed the Pearl Essence that was used in the 715C. This new version will undoubtedly be a hit in the Track line. We have also used a brand new surfacing process, our three-stage factory sanding system. This all-new process for Track removes one sanding stage and therefore uses only three: 500, 1000 and 200 giving a more aggressive footprint on the lane. Also, remember, if you need a more aggressive reaction, our covers are easy to adjust.

Likes: Absolutely love the way this ball rolled. It was exactly what it says it is. The ball very amazingly predictable off the spot and very even. Loved that I always knew EXACTLY what my ball was going to do down lane. It was just strong enough to carry when I pulled it in a board or two, and clean enough through the front to get back to the pocket and carry when I fanned it right a board or two. My area increased immensely with this ball. It was perfect.

My layout for this ball was 80* x 4.75" x 55*
Surface preparation: 4000 dull

Likes: This Ball is the best track ball i have ever thrown. Very smooth and controllable off the dry nice even arc. Its one of the things they have been missing in the 7 series line. Strong ball motion but really smooth. I think this should be a ball that every one should own.

If you enjoy the ball motion of the 503C then you are going to be very excited for the similar yet stronger ball motion of the 716C. This is another ball that is very smooth off the spot, it doesn't give you the big snapping motion on the backend. Compared to the 718A this ball is going to pick up sooner and be a more continued roll as opposed to the longer/snapier reaction of the 718A. The earlier/continued roll has helped me to keep the pins lower and taken the number of corners left way down. The stronger move does allow me to get deeper on the lane than I can with the 503C. I have drilled two, one with a 1" pin under the ring finger with the mass bias kicked way out, the other with the pin over the ring finger and the mass bias to the left side of the thumb. The 1" pin I have left with the box shine on it, the other I have knocked the shine off and it gives me a little earlier roll for the heavier volumes.

If you need a big brother to your 503C you will not be disappointed with the 716C.

Well here's a review on the 716c. The 716c is a great compliment to the 503c, in my opinion the ball is about 2 feet earlier and 6-7 stronger down lane. I went with a standard layout for me, pin: 12 o clock mb: 35 degrees. This ball is wonderful on those fresh back ends and free hook right or left. I get great push threw the front part of the lane and strong continuous motion in the back end all the way through the pins. If you have a 503 and need something a bit stronger for the fresh this is your ball, or if you feel like the 718 is too jumpy later in blocks the 716 is a great piece to have. Another great piece from Track.

Likes: Ball motion. Out of box surface and prep

Dislikes: not enough orange color in my ball

Drilling 5 X 4 X 2 1/2 pin up

pap 6 1/8 ----> 1 1/2 up speed 15-16mph 350-400revs

I drilled the ball wanting to be able to play more down the right side of the lane. My pro shop manager said that this was a weaker layout compared to my mutant cell which is 4 X 4 X 1. Talk about a smooth and controlled motion. Loved how the ball read the lanes and that it was same move to the pocket. In two weeks we are moving to White pattern two and ill post some more feed back. I cant wait to try this out in league. PS This ball hits like a mac truck. I threw about 14 shots and 10 of which hit the pocket, some flush some a little higher, some a light hit. They all carried all the corner pins. Overall my first non storm roto grip bowling ball and I think I am in love. Maybe ill move to track ^.^

Likes:I laid out my 716C with the pin below my fingers and the mass bias strong (45x5 1/2x75) and I also touched up the cover with a 2000 pad. The 716C scouts through the front with consistency and at the break point prevides enough reaction without being too jumpy. It is stronger throughout the lane than 503C and not as reactive as the 607A or the 718A. Compared to the 715C, the 716C is more aggressive and more forgiving. The 716C is the first ball out of my bag when I am on a shorter sports pattern or on a dry house pattern.

Dislikes:Pushes too far on occasion.

Likes:The 716C allowed me to play the pattern more direct and when I had to go around the pattern I did not have to change balls. The 716C is a combination of both strength and predictablity. It is strong enough to open up the lane but is continuous enough to play straighter. The layout I used in this 716C is 55X4 3/8X 45 and the X-hole on the mid line at 6 inches from center of span. The surface is 4000. I was not a big fan of the 715C but the 716C is a keeper for me.... I am going to drill one more I think!

Dislikes: Sometimes pushes a tad too far down lane.

Likes: I like the fact that this piece is clean in the fronts and gives a bit stronger read than the 715C did in the mids. The overall reaction shape is fantastic. It's a strong controllable read off the dry. This is a great ball if you are looking to stay in the same area of the lane as your 718A without the big move off the spot. It's also a great piece if you have to ball up from the 503C. It has the same predictable, controlled arc that all of the C balls have been known for. To sum it up, the 716C is the a great benchmark piece for the fresh.

Dislikes: The footprint of the cover tends to slow up the reaction through the later transition, but that is not when this ball was designed to shine.

Preface- Track's unique numbering system is a great way in my opinion to decide what ball would likely be the best choice to fill a gap. Pick your ball strength 9-1, then decide whether you need Continuation, Traction, Angular, or Control. Now you don't need to remember what name gives you what performance.

COMMENTS
Carry - Ball pushes pins all over the deck, and hits very solid.
Likes - For me the ball is easy to control and very predictable while still being strong
Dislikes - For the customer I drilled this ball for, his very high ball speed can create over/under on certain lane conditions

Assuming you have a 919C that you are in love with, I would recommend an 811A and a 716C to compliment it. The 811A SE will be good when you need a ball the you can move left with when there is still oil out on the lanes. The 716C will be the ball you want on a shorter/dryer shot. It will still give you a strong ball motion, but a cleaner and more controlled back end.

I recently bought the 716c and love it. I have pin below middle finger and basically stacked over the cg. Now i also just bout the 503c and was wondering how to drill it so that it compliments the 716c and is less reactive by about 5 boards? Can i drill it the exact same way as the 716c or will that not work? I love pins under fingers if that helps
