811 C/T
« on: October 17, 2012, 12:48:15 PM »
Ball NPS Score: 100.00
Description: This ball is the next step up from the Track 912T that we are all familiar with. Track used the 912T core (Legion 2 Turbo) but paired it with a brand new coverstock (GenX CT Hybrid) to give us a powerful hooking ball. Although this ball excels on high-oil patters it will prove to be a solid ball even when the lanes start to break down and the oil starts to disintegrate.
Track 811 C/T Ball Specs:
- Core Type: Legion 2Turbo-Asymmetrical
- Coverstock: GenX CT Hybrid
- Color: Blue/Yellow/Black All colors do vary somewhat from the picture shown.
- Factory Finish: 800/1000/2000/4000 Abralon, A few tiny pit holes in the cover stock of the ball are normal
- RG max: 2.51
- RG min: 2.60
- RG diff: 0.046
- Hook Potential: High
- Length: High
- Recommended Lane Condition: medium-heavy conditions

I am a staffer in Phoenix and figured I would record a few shots of the new ball on my phone so those that are anticipating this release can check out the great motion this ball makes. Those that are excited won't be disappointed, I can promise you that. This ball is sick!

The video is only shots of the new C/T but I will give you a break down of what I saw between the other balls close to it in the line.

811A - I LOVED MY "A"!, I almost always went to it during any tournament or during league, once the lanes got a decent amount of play on them. It was my favorite motion, but I COULD NOT throw it on the fresh. It just either 4 pinned or rang 10 too much. Needless to say, when I heard the 811C/T was coming out, I was stoked to get that same motion but in a shell that would blend out the fresh conditions. The 811C/T was EXACTLY THAT, same great motion as the 811A but blends out the reaction on fresh. If you loved the 811A when they were drier, or hated it because it went through the spot to easily, then you WILL LOVE THE 811C/T.

912T - I have to be honest here... when I saw the new ball was "Continuous Traction", i thought it was going to be another version of the 912T. I was wrong and also pleasantly surprised. The 912T out hooks the 811C/T by a few boards but the two motions are very different. The 912T is what I like to call a "sneaky arc".. because it never appears to "face" the pocket but is SO smooth and continuous that it arcs in a sneaky manner... Which is great when you need to manage the back ends....

The 811C/T in comparison is not sneaky in the least bit lol.... You can easily tell when it faces the pocket, and it transitions into its hook and roll at a much faster pace then the 912T does. This creates a stronger looking ball motion even though it hooks less boards. If I need predictability, 912T, If need to go left to right on some oil, need some teeth, but need the ball to get around the corner quickly, the 811C/T is perfect.

You can watch the video for my style, but the layout is 55 * 5 * 30, axis is 6 over by 7/8 up and its OOB. Hope you guys/gals enjoy! Also congrats to my main main and fellow Track staffer Toby Sambueno on winning the SNBT masters in Vegas! Congrats buddy!

The first thing that noticed about the 811C/T was the colors! Great Shelf appeal! I drilled the 811C/T pin down with the xhole on the Mass bias. Dual angle numbers are as follows 65 X 4.75 X 75 with xhole on P4. I threw it on fresh THS and the 811C/T allowed me to bump without over reaction and did not lose hitting power. I did not touch the cover at all and I had push and recovery. For me it was a couple boards stronger than the 811A. I wanted to see if changing the cover would influence the ball reaction.... so I hand scuffed it with a 2000 pad and noticed that it checked a touch early on the THS but still had enough on the backend to knock pins down. I am very happy and will drilling another. If you have a 912T, the 811C/T is a couple boards weaker but has more recovery. If you have a 811A, the 811C/T is a couple boards stronger throughout the lane! I will have the 811C/T in my bag everytime I bowl!

Hello track fans, I will be speaking a bit about the new Track 811 c/t. If your a fan of the 811ase you will love this ball. The 811Ase was real clean through the fronts and nice and angular on the backend. Now this hybrid cover on the new 811 c/t allows it to clear the fronts so well, and the surface combo gives a unbelievable strong continuos motion through the pins. This ball is sick of the spot, but not uncontrollable. This piece will be great on the medium to fresh and definitely tournament conditions. Track has definitely out done themselves and this ball is a must have.

SURFACE PREPARATION
The ball comes at 4000 grit from the factory, if you want to bring out the Tracktion shape of the ball, hit it with 1000 then 2000 grit. I did this and it really brought out the strength of the ball.
If you are looking for more of a Controlled shape, then shine the ball and it will roll completely different.

LANE CONDITION

Volume - medium
Type (Wall, Xmas Tree, Sport) - House shot

BALL REACTION
Length - 6

COMMENTS
Carry - This is my favorite ball of the year. I have been able to get out more corner pins with this ball than any other so far.
Likes - If you like the 811A and the 912T, you will LOVE this ball. It is a strong shape that can be used on a variety of patterns. Where I felt that the 912T was best kept in the bag for the slickest of patterns.
Other -This ball is very unique that you can bring out the traits of either the Control or the Tracktion. I think I'll be keeping two in the bag, one shiny and one dull and be able to go from one ball to the other as the lanes break down. That is how versatile the ball is.

Likes:  When laying out my 811 C/T, I decided to go with my home run pin up layout, 60 x 5 x 40.  It is a really good compliment to the 912T and 811A.  Gets easy length through the front of the lane, and really picks up in the midlane.  I was shocked to see how much actual midlane hook this ball had.  It's cleaner than the 912T, and earlier than the 811A.  This ball gives me a benchmark type reaction, very smooth, even arcing.  If your looking for a ball that hooks a little bit more than your 811A, or a step down from your 912T, this is the ball for you.  Who doesn't like strong, and smooth in the same sentence?!?!

Dislikes:  None.  Adapts to surface changes very well, no dislikes at all!

I've had this ball for about a month now.  It was sent to Midway Pro Shop St. Paul, MN by Shawn Morris.  Thanks Shawn.  I walked into the shop and saw this beauty I immediately read up on it.  The shelf appeal is ridicoulous.  I can't tell you how many people have asked about it.  This was the first Track that I have drilled in some time so
I wanted take my time and try it at several houses.  I have to say that based on this balls reaction I will definitely be drilling more Track equipment.  I drilled it 60 x 5.5 x 55.  I am a right hander, 17 mph and my pap is 5 3/8 over by 3/4 up.  The two things that impressed me the most about this ball are the way it revs up in the midalne and the carry.  Throw it remotely close to the pocket and the ball seems to figure out a way to knock them all down.  Tonight I bowled at a house that is notorious for bad carry.  I had my best night of the season which makes me second guess my previous ball choices.  The ball is very versatile and takes to cover changes well.  You will need some oil up front if its left OOB unless you are a stroker.  At 4000 its a bit strong up front for anything less than medium.  I don't have anyhting like this in my arsenal.  It's a strong ball that isn't just pigeoned holed for heavy oil.  I tell those who ask that Track has effectively created the first TRIBRID(it's a hybrid) with the ball's ability to go from near skid flip to near particle smooth depending on cover preperation.  If you can't tell I am loving this ball.

where do I start with with this ball, when the R & D team at EBI took this baby off the design table they had no idea they re created Frankenstin, All I can say is what a monster!!!. I have my ball drilled with pin above bridge. This ball with the hybrid cover allows this ball to be used by everyone. What I tell everyone about this is that it "Strikes for everyone".

Wow! If you’ve never tried a hybrid (and I have not) I suggest you start with this one. Normally it takes time for me to get to know a ball…not this one! We had a great working relationship from the beginning!  ;) I have mine pin tall with nothing done to the cover. If you happen to miss your target right (or left) the recovery (Continuous) and carry is awesome! This ball has made an appearance in most of my leagues and tournaments and has done extremely well. I will be getting a least one more to drill with a different surface.

Likes: Much MUCH stronger than I had expected. I drilled 2 of these, one pin up and one pin down, and both of them hop much sooner than intended. That being said, all it made me do was move left to get some oil and then these balls were really shining. Although they were hooking earlier, they still had plenty of back end AND continuation through the pins. If you are struggling in oil, then look no further than this ball to really get you're game back when the conditions get slicker.

Ball Weight:Man Weight

DRILL PATTERN

SURFACE PREP

500/500/2000/4000

BALL REACTION

Length: Clears heads nicely. Wants to rev up fairly early.

Back End: Starts continues, then moves through the back. Not uncontrollable, but makes aggressive move throughout start of motion.

Overall Hook: Moderately-aggressive

Midlane Read: Reads midlane, as advertised. Medium total differential shows itself. You can still tell it's an asymmetrical ball when ball reads midlane, and then turns over a little more in the end.

Breakpoint Shape: Strong arc plus a little more flip in the backend, nothing excessive for most synthetic surfaces.

COMMENTS

Likes: It does as it is advertised. It wants to get going a bit early, but doesn't go too sideways in the back. It allows me to be aggressive with my release without wanting to open the angles up too early.

Dislikes: Shell is clearly a little "too clean" out of box. Had to freshen it up a bit for my favored style of lane play.

Observations:
Like many EBI shells, it seems like it wants to soak up oil fairly quickly, therefore, ball maintenance and saving it from use on typical practices and non-competitive situations will be important. It is clear that the ball is a pretty aggressive, but not a super-soaker, either.

Track 811CT will provide a good look when I want to be aggressive upon seeing carrydown transitions shortly after the fresh, without having to use a ball that has a  big friction and flare factor, which can spell out disaster for getting in too deep and ruining the shim too early. I plan on drilling another one of these for a cleaner reaction and to stay right of the headpin for a longer period of time, but still allowing me to be aggressive with my ball speed and release.

I've had this ball for a couple of months.  It was purchased used from a teammate (RH)and redrilled for me (LH) at 35 x 4 x 40 to promote early transitions for use on heavier / fresh oil conditions.  I also took the surface down to 1000.

The ball works as advertised.  I get a nice reaction off the end of the pattern with a strong move to the pocket playing a straighter line with a breakpoint ranging from 6 or 7 to 10 board depending on the THS that day.  As with most balls that roll early, when trying to swing the ball inside-out, the recovery is not there because the ball has used up its energy early.  But that's why there are other balls, right?
