- Description:  Track’s intent with the  all new 508A is to bring you a new and improved version of the original  505A.  
 What makes the 508A an improved version of the 505A? First we started  with the ever popular Legion Core that we used in the best-selling Track  ball in recent years, the 607A. Next we worked on creating a cover that  would be just as angular as the cover used on the 505A. After testing  several different covers, we said to ourselves, “if it isn’t broke,  don’t fix it.” By combining the MP GEN 4 Reactive Pearl veneer and the  Legion Core, we have provided Track fans with a ball motion that is  stronger than the 505A while maintaining the same overall look on the  lanes.  
 The 508A, with the help of the MP GEN 4 Reactive Pearl veneer, is  designed to be stronger off the spot that its predecessor. The 508A also  brings a different surface than the 505A as now we use three different  grits of Abralon pads, 800, 1000, and 2000, followed by Powerhouse  Factory Finish Polish.
 Both the intermediate and overall differential are higher in the new  508A which provide more flare potential and a stronger overall core than  the 505A. The combination of the MP GEN 4 Reactive Pearl veneer and the  modified Legion Core, should provide you with a quicker responsive and  overall more aggressive product than the previous 500 series balls.

Likes:The 508A prevides good length and recovery on both fresh and carrydown. The layout in my 508A is 45 X 5 1/2 X 75, or pin under the fingers with mass bias kicked out with a hole at 45 degrees at 7 inches. The 508A is very responsive at the break point and is stronger than the 505A. I used the 508A first on a lane that was not conditioned for a couple of days with some open play on it. The 508A still pushed and gave a strong move on the backend. To my surprise very readable and strong even on that condition. When I threw the 508A on the fresh house pattern it was a beast. I had the best of both worlds push and recovery! The colors are eye catching on the shelf and going down the lane.


Dislikes: Sometimes a little jumpy on the dry and wants to squirt on the wet. That is a charteristic of any pearl piece.

Likes:If you liked the 505a this ball you will love, it has similar length but a little bit more of a turn and kick at the pins then the 505a had. I drilled my 508a  with a 5 X 5 drilling it has great length and a hard but predictable turn into the pocket.I would definitely recommend this ball,

Hello once again Track fans I'm here to talk about another great piece. The Track 508A this ball has great characteristics it's clean through the fronts and pretty strong down lane. I drilled mines 55x5x45 pin is over my bridge. I love it when the lanes start to break down, because it glides through the fronts and allows me to open the pair up. It's a great medium ball out of box it's not an oil piece so you may not like want to use it on that. If you like the 505a and the 607ase you will love this ball the world wide release date is 2/2/12 so got get yours.

Drilled mine with the pin over bridge and cg under ring finger mass bias 1" from thumb and man does this ball work AMAZINGLY. I used this ball friday night for three games on a heavier oil house shot and me being a tweener was able to start out around 12-13 and break at 5 then as the night went along and the third game transition happened i moved to 18-7 and this ball never lost one ounce of hitting power or traction. Haven't had a track ball in 10 years and now i'll never not have one thanks to this ball. EVERYONE should have this ball.

This ball reminds me of a slightly weaker 607A, when the ball sees the dry it is makes its move.  It has been a solid piece for a THS so far for me.  It has been a nice compliment to the 503C or 716C when I've needed something that gives me more pop on the back part of the lane.  Very clean through the front of the lane, almost to a fault at times, very good piece when the heads are burnt as well.

I  know this ball has been out for a while, but business has been good and  haven't had free time to review all of the balls we have been drilling.  My apologies for that. I hope this still helps some people decide to  punch up this great ball.

 Carry - This is a great ball  when the pattern starts to open up. the angle to the pocket gets the  corners out great and carry is great with this ball
 Likes -This ball is super  clean through the fronts, with a more midlane thanks to the use of the  607 core. For us, the ball actually turns the corner a little harder  than the 811A
 Dislikes - With all the pearl and shine, this ball is not for heavy patterns. But that is what the T series is for after all.
 Other - My personal favorite ball  is my 505T, and this ball is a PERFECT back up when the fronts start to  dry out, but I need the same shape and hit. It makes changing balls  easy. I don't even have to move when I go to this ball from my 505t.

Track 508A


One of the newest balls in our mid-performance line, the 508A is simply spectacular. Wrapped in the cover of the 505A and having the core of the 607A, the 508A gives you length through the front part of the lane, and it has probably the most angular breakpoint shape ever. I am Michael Williams II, PBA Tour player and Mccorvey’s Pro shop technician, using the morich dual angle layout, my 508A is laid out 55x5 7/16x 30. I am considered a power tweener bowler style with a 17.5-18 mph ball speed and around 400-450 rpm. This ball gives me a reaction that is suitable on medium heavy to medium dry lane conditions, when the lanes are transitioned enough to step inside and give it some room. Compared to the Track 503C, this ball has a much more angular breakpoint. Because the 503C comes out of the box without a pearlized shell (MP Gen 4C), it’s gets into a roll a tad bit earlier than 508A (MP Gen4 Reactive Pearl) does. Also, with 508A having the Legion core from the 607A, this ball has the engine to drive off of the friction when it sees it, giving the angularity off the breakpoint to knock out the corners when we start having to move inside. In my opinion, this ball will for the league bowler work best when the lanes have gone through the transition and are broken down, and the bowler starts having to move inside on the lane. For the sport bowler, this ball is best for those medium patterns to short patterns. With there being more oil across the lane on sport conditions, it might be best to knock the polish off of this ball to the desired grit depending on your rev rate, and how early on you want to put the ball in play. Even on sport shots, I still recommend this ball later on in your block when the lanes have been broken down, eventhough, you can knock the polish off and create an earlier roll for use on those fresher shots (still medium lane conditions).
