Arsenal Reactive
« on: December 31, 1969, 06:00:00 PM »
Ball NPS Score: Not Available
Designed to conquer both competitive lane conditions and league patterns, the Arsenal Reactive creates the ability to attack the lanes with confidence. The explosive core of the Arsenal Strong Reactive pairs a high-density rev-ball inside the extrememly low RG Morpheus Radical Symmetric core to create a high rev rate. Encasing it within the new 1200-grit sanded Power Punch reactive coverstock results in the strongest symmetric reactive bowling ball for heavier oil in Track''s history.

Arsenal Reactive - I drilled my Arsenal Reactive 4.5 x 2.5 with the pin under my ring finger and my extra hole 3in down from my axis to increase track flare to help deal with oil down lane. I polished the surface with 1200. THIS BALL GETS A BIG WOW. If you are having a problem getting your ball to read the midlane this ball is for you. With the very low RG core this one will roll through anything. The balls clears the fronts with ease and then reads the spot very nicely at 35ft. This ball just keeps on trucking and continues through the pins with incredible hit and carry. Everybody talks about the Absolute Inferno but I have a feeling that this ball is going to have to move over because the Arsenal Reactive is even stronger while still clearing the fronts with ease. The price tag on this one will also help make the decision pretty easy. On a scale of 1 -10 this one gets an 11.

Greetings!  Player specs in Profile..

Ball came with a 2 inch pin and 3 oz top.  Placed the pin just to the right of ring finger (actually caught the corner of the pin during drilling) and cg in the center of grip.  Results are about a 4 1/2 by 5 1/4 pattern. Left in box condition.

First Condition - Brunswick Synthetics...40 units 10 to 10 and 30 outside.  Clean back ends.

First shot was up 5....nice and clean through the first 30 feet and then saw it really read the lane and make a strong move.  Hit dead on the headpin...moved 3 right and dead flush.  Was able to play this line for the first game...then as we encountered some carrydown, tightened up to straight up and was back flush.  Carry was great as usual.

Comparison to the GP2:  Definately reads earlier for me, just a touch less overall hook, in the range of 2-4 boards.

To the Blue Heat: Reads a little later but much stronger off the break point.  Stronger by 3-5 boards.

Second Condition....THS...Wood.  Played 3rd arrow right....didn't really matter where to.....if got it to the dry flipped off it and smacked the hole...if tugged in the oil a bit....still read the midlane and smacked the hole...Silly simple shot.....

Comparison to the GP2....GP2 burned out unless way deep.  GP2 definately will handle higher volumes of oil than the Reactive.

Comparison to the Blue Heat...Blue Heat also needed oil as it burned out as soon as hit the dry.  Loved it in tight with the oil.  Probably read about 3 feet earlier than the Reactive and more arc than the Reactive..but that is expected between particle and reactive...

Overall....A monster for the Med-Heavyies and for the THS.  A great ball to first take out of the bag.

Carry is a bit different for me....doesn't explode pins as much as some of my other Track equipment but it is more like slow motion viewing when you hit dead flush...just very sweet.......

Perfect fit in my arsenal giving me that strong Reactive look when Particle is too strong..

Hope this helps!

Mike

Track Arsenal Reactive
Weight: 15#
Pin: 3.5"
Top Weight: 4 oz.

Layout:
4 1/2" Pin below the ring finger. Weight hole NOT necessary.

I have never had a dull symmetric reactive hook as much as the Arsenal Reactive. This immediately replaced the Arsenal Aggressive in my bag due to its total hook potential. I am more than impressed with this ball. It gets through the slick heads and has an amazing recovery on the back end to the 1-3 pocket! After I drilled it up, I took it out on a test pair with a fresh typical house shot. I played the 15-12 line and this is where the gem shined. Awesome bang and excellent layout to compliment my style. I have NOT had any pin below the ring finger layouts since my GP2 so I figured it was long overdue and I am more than happy with it. This has been the first ball out of the bag every league night and it is just a great asset to the Track arsenal I currently own! I would even go as far as to say I like the Arsenal Reactive more than I do the Rule Delta 1. This ball reacts a lot more consistently than the Delta and is smooth towards the pocket, also not as jumpy on the dry boards. It is stronger than the X-Ception and slightly weaker than the original Rule. If heavy oil conditions have got you baffled, then look no further than the Arsenal Reactive. WOW! It is the best symmetric reactive piece I have ever throwned!

Wow what a great fit this ball is for the Arsenal Aggressive and the Arsenal Angular... This ball fits with them perfectly... Ball drilled pin 4 1/2", cg 2 1/2". No balance hole... Polished out of box with Clean and Smooth... I tried the ball out of box and ball and it was way to strong so I hit it with Clean and Smooth now the ball reads the fronts very easy, if there is not oil this ball will have no energy for the backends. I find this ball fits great with the other Arsenal series as well with Xception 5.0 and the Solution... This ball is very strong, and it is a must for oil, do not attempt on dry lanes.... Very strong in the fronts great midlane pick up with a arc motion in the back. Well that is the Review on the Arsenal Reactive, stay tunned for upcoming reviews... I am outtie from Canada!!!!

Ball:
Pin 4 1/2 from PAP under ring finger, CG stacked below. I left it with the OOB finish.

Line: There are times when I have to stand deeper with the A.R. than I do with the Delta 1 because of how strong the A.R. is in the backend. On the same pattern I mentioned in the Delta 1 mini, I start out on 27 with my feet with my breakpoint at 9-10 board down the lane.

Reaction:
The first time I through this ball I was totally shocked and in awed. This layout is usually pretty smooth throughout the lane for me, but when I threw it it turned left in the backend like I would expect a polished ball to do. It is a couple of ft further down the lane than the Delta 1 when it starts its roll, but it has more in the backend than the Delta 1.

Impact:
WELL--------------This ball flat smacks the pins. I think it hits better when I am on a tighter shot and am able to square up more I love it. It has one of those distinctive "PINGS" when it hits the pins. It keeps the pins low, and as long as it is thrown correctly you are not going to leave anything when you hit the pocket.

Readability:
Even with the OOB finish the A.R. has too much movement at the breakpoint for me to use it to read the lanes. I think a stroker would be in love with this ball though because I would expect it to give a smoother reaction for them.

Overall Comments:
VERY nice ball. I really loved the Arsenal Aggressive, and I think I may like the Arsenal Reactive even more. The coverstock is durable, I have quite a few games on it (mostly on wood lanes) and I don't have a mark on it yet. Given OOB surface those of you that want an angular movement out of a dull symmetrical the A.R. is for you. If you have lower ball speed or achappy kind of revs you are going to need to apply some polish to the surface. The A.R. makes the Arsenal Series even more legit. The A.R. handles carrydown very well compared to the other balls in the Arsenal Series. Track was saying that the A.R. and Absolute Inferno have identical movement throughout the lane....I don't see it because the A.R. seems to perform better in more oil, and it definately rips the rack better.

Placement:
The Arsenal Reactive fits below the Rule Delta 1 and above the Xception 5.0 for me.

I used this ball to win the PBA Sr. Tour Jackson stop. It had a 4 inch pin and was drilled over the label with the CG just above the thumb and the pin at 1:00.  The shot was around the 6-7 board and had a great backend reaction even though there was a hang spot.(box finish) The best reactive ball I've used in a long time!

Ball is drilled 5x3, pin below the fingers, no extra hole. Polished with Magic Shine. 15#

At first out of box condition was not a good set up for me. It was to much over/under. Once I polished the Arsenal Reactive with Magic Shine, WOW, what a difference. This ball really came to lifef. It gets good length, great hit and carry. Just a little longer and snappier then the Arsenal Angular, which is exactly what I was looking for. I don't really reccommend it for heavy oil, but it should perform great on most THS!!! Outstanding addition to the Track family!!

Pap – 5 over 3/4 up, rotation 45-50 degrees, speed 14-15, weight 14lbs
Layout 4.5x2.75 with the pin 1.5 above mid line, weight hole 3/4 x 2 1/4 deep 6 and 1/4 inches away slightly above mid line

http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=10/29305234629.jpg&s=x10

Here are a couple of vids, the oil was actually pretty thick at 12-13

AR in the oil line -  http://media.putfile.com/StrongARinoil
AR with a slight swing -  http://media.putfile.com/StrongARswinging

Testing conditions: synthetics heavy 34ft buffed to 42ft, drier between 5-10 with lite hang outside 5

Readability and Hook: This ball reads med to med heavy oil with ease. It offered me a nice mid lane read with a good strong arcing finish on the backend.

In the out of box finish (dull), I got more hook from the ball then expected.  Rumors had this ball with the same ball path as an AI from Bruns and I definitely saw more then that.  It's about 3-4 boards stronger then that IMHO.

Control: I placed the pin under bridge area for more control for some of our heavier front and drier backend shots and that is exactly what I got, a nice smooth but strong arcing ball.

Hit: The hit is was still very powerful for a ball that arcs smoothly into the pins.

Overall: Very nice ball.  With it's lower rg and the rev-ball insert, it does rev up on it's own pretty quickly, looks good going down the lane.  This is just a tad under my Rule Delta 1 which offers me a different look on the heavier oil conditions (length and very strong backend).  I'd recommend this ball to anyone seeking a stronger reactive cover for medium heavy oil and likes to not have to work to get a good strong reaction.

Arsenal Reactive

Drilled 5 ¼ X 5 ½ Pin Above Ring Finger

Patterns Used: House and PBA Regional Pattern #4 & #5

Medium rev player with average ball speed.

I used Cleen N Sheen on the ball right out of the box just to bring the surface up a little bit.  This ball rolls very true and is a very strong reactive.  With the pin up I can use this ball on heavier longer patterns and it gives me good skid and strong backend.  This ball is a little much for shorter patterns, but for guys with a little less hand this ball might be the one for you.  This ball is very good on house patterns, the ball has enough to read the oil and plenty of backend to knock out the ten.

I'm left-handed. Ball speed avg is 18.5 - 20 mph, depending. Decent revs. I drilled this one @ 3 3/8" x 3 3/8", which was basically stacked under my ring finger. I was hesitant on the surface, because my previous ball was the GP2. However, I shined it right out of the box. Daddy likes! I'm standing about 2 boards right of where I stood with the GP2, and this baby doesn't burn out. She hits hard. You should rarely see questionable corners. I highly recommend this ball for medium to heavy conditions, out of the box (1200 grit) or polished (Ebonite Factory Finish).

Drilled pin below fingers, cg kicked out to the right.  Very aggresive with the out of box surface.  Only threw it once with surface then I wanted to try it polished with clean and smooth.  What a great ball reaction with it polished.  This ball has a very smooth reaction to it and hits great.  With this drilling it works very good on a wet dry condition beacause it won't overreact on the dry.  Good benchmark ball, usually the first one out of the bag.

Arsenal Reactive

Weight: 15#
Pin: 3.5"
Top Weight: 4.0 oz.
Surface: OOB
Layout: Pin above ring finger
Reaction shape: Flippy, and that's putting it mildly
Shots bowled on: Fresh THS(X-mas tree and a lesser oiled X-mas tree), THS with carrydown, Open play, and various spotty and drier shots from weekend bowlers

The Wookiee has a new ball to use, and its an Arsenal Reactive, courtesy of SteveAustin2808. My expectations at first were simple: This ball would be good for the slicker of the oils I see on Monday Night League and also do well on the mediums. The Arsenal Reactive far exceeded my expectations to say the least....

I have never had a pin above ring drill on a ball b4, so I decided to try this gem on every shot I could in the city to get a good read on it. On the slick stuff, this ball goes about 35 ft. b4 it makes its move BUT the move is a strong one, to say the least. It comes back strong off the dry, and doesn't even flinch on carrydown. The Reactive is more angular and flippy in some ways than my Heat remake and my Unleashed combined.

Also, the Reactive isn't the most readable of balls, my Slash does a better job at doing that than this one does. Plus, with the angularity and flip of this ball, it is not good for shots that are wet/dry for me. I mean, the coverstock is so strong OOB, that I would be afraid to sand it down. With its reaction off the dry, I can only throw it no more than 3 games, mostly 2 in league.

Out of 10:

Length: 7
Backend: 10
Carry: 10(as with all Track balls)
Versatility: 7(I have to know when to put it in the bag)
Overall: A+(I truly enjoy throwing this ball)

I shot a 655 in league when I got it from the pro shop that afternoon. Talk about success out the gate! Thanks to Track for making this ball, for this is a mainstay in my bag....

Got my Arsenal for the oily lanes that my pearls weren't giving my enough area.  Drilled it with the pin above the ring finger and no weigh hole.

Reaction:  This ball reacted great on the medium condition, but if it is on wood lanes it hooks to early.  The heaver oil make the ball slide to much and miss the break point and on drier lanes it seems to over hook or roll out and not finish with any power.

Overall: This ball is great on medium condition with great read and hit.  The only this i don't like is that the cover is not very tunable for the lighter and heavier patterns.

Also would like to hear form someone that had Reactive compared to the Particle Arsenals

good luck on the lanes.

That big smile is there because that is what this ball makes me want to do! Pin at 2clock next to ring finger bomb in center of grip. Starting on the 18 throwing out to about the 4-5, slides down and takes a hard arcing left turn, pins fly everywhere from both sides of the deck, what a beauty to watch, go ahead strike your strike pose! Great on med/heavy to med/lite - way to aggressive for lite to dry. This is the one I replaced my Freakazoid with. 10 pin rating all the way, all day!
