First off, I will start by saying that I love the Equation.  I have 2 of them.  I drilled my Equation^2 (EQ2) with the pin 5" from my pap, and in my middle finger hole.  It is the same pattern I used on my first Equation.  I have above average speed (19mph) and revs (420 rpms).

I used this for the first time last night on a condition where the Equation was too strong on the backend.  The EQ2 had very easy length a strong, but smooth move to the pocket and excellent hit and carry.  I now have two games on mine and am averaging a tad over 266 with it.  Yep, 300 the first game with it, and 236 the second.  I was bowling on a condition where my Phoenix and Equation were both way too strong on the back.  I left some ugly splits before switching....a 3-4-6-7-9-10, 3-6-7-10, 2-4-8-10 and 7-9 (I'm right handed).  I feel this ball is an excellent choice on shorter patterns or where everything is too strong off of the dry, wether its to the right or on the backend.

Overall, excellent control without sacrificing hit.  I love mine.

Track Equation^2
Weight: 15#
Pin: 3-4"
Top Weight: 2.50 oz

Layout:
4" Pin Above the Ring Finger. Pin 3.5" above midline. No Weight Hole.

Picture: http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=4505190
Video: http://media.putfile.com/Equation2

First Impressions:
The Equation^2 really reminded me of my Heat Blast when I first punched it up. It was very smooth and did not have an overall amount of snap on the backend. Just a very easy going angle into the pocket. Stronger than the Heat Blast yet less aggressive than the original Equation.

General Thoughts:
I have not came across a condition where the Equation^2 has given me a full three game set for league but I have ran into where it was necessary to throw. With basically the same layout as the original Equation, I noticed the EQ2 go 5-7 feet longer before smooth arching its way back to the pocket.

Comparison and Contrast:

Equation vs. Equation^2

The EQ2 as I said earlier gets about 5-7 feet more length than the original and it is not quite as snappy also. The original Equation reads better in medium heavy oil whereas the Equation^2 misses the breakpoint; however, if lucky enough to read the dry can recover just enough to light mix the pocket.

Final Conclusion:
If your Equation is reading way too early and you need a ball with more length but that same reaction to the pocket, then you may want to consider the Equation^2. This ball compliments its predecessor very well and works just like the original when the oil has broken down ranging from medium to medium dry conditions!

This ball breaks late and hits the pocket hard. See my video of the Equation 2: http://youtube.com/watch?v=S58asCY5tes

anyway i bought this ball for use on burned out and dry lane conditions but i've found that it works well in oil with its OOB finish. Haven't polished it or sanded it. I need to put a bit more speed on the ball or else it tends to grab early and go through the head (i've left too many splits when i throw it slower). I'm a tweener with (i think) below average speed and i average around 205 in a standard league. VERY forgiving ball with the right speed. Miss inside and it will glide into the pocket, miss outside and it will either hit flush with the right rotation or it will hit light and still carry the pins (light hits are very nice with this ball)

btw, the 4th night after i bought it i rolled a 300. good ball

Cheers!

I wasn't going to buy this ball after being a little disapponinted with the Desert Heat, but after reading a few reviews and hearing guys say that it went a lot further down the lane than the Equation, I decided to try it. I was lucky enough to get the same exact specs that I had on the Equation and decided to have it punched the same way. Great decision. Ball reaction is the same, just goes a lot longer with the same great move off the dry and better yet, the same HIT. Terrific dry lane ball for me.

got this ball used scuffed it at first because to straight with way to much pollish for me.worked ok put it away for a while.got all my track balls resanded and polished back to spec.used this ball today at practice threw 195 257 225 236  247 hits well and hooks good.played 25 to 5 swing then 15 to 3 with some speed and it carried everything like a grenade.now will be in my bag with kinetic energy(money ball) uprising and rising se when it comes in already ordered.   not to left out pin right at right of ring finger mb ? not marked

remember if it aint track it aint
i have 16 balls 6 track now i probaly wont threw any thing else
