Animal

The Animal is the most technologically advanced ball produced in the history of Track. The Morpheus 2.0 core uses six pieces of different densities to achieve a balance of control of the breakpoint and overall hook ability. The addition of a wing attachment on the opposing side of the rev plate increases the Animal's mid-lane control while the aggressive Mega Fang coverstock provides its lane gripping ability. There is so much power inside the Animal that we had to use our Clean N Sheen compound to tame this wild beast. Put an Animal in your hand and be an Animal on the lane.

animal was an idea of Del through conversations on computer and then going to his seminar. pin 5 inches from pap mb 2 inches from pap pin 1 3/4 above centerline balance hole about 1 1/4 from pap straight left ended up about 1/2 side left in box surface still didn't make the turn quite like i wanted it to took it to burgandy pad and side weight down to about 1/4 and wow this ball will rol on ice now haven't found enough oil anywhere yet where you can't get inside and wheel ths thing but it is controlable enough to take your hand out and roll it up the back up 10 great ball and thanks to DEL.

Picked this one up used, less than 10 games.

Drilled pin under ring, mb 2" right of Thumb.

Kept this one with the surface in box condition.

HOOK: This ball flat out hooks. I figured with the mb kicked out a bit more towards my VAL I would get more of an arc, but this ball still has an angular break to it on the backend. It gets down the lane and then makes a very hard turn.

CONTROLL: For me, it is very controllable. I always know when the ball is going to flip over. It reads the lane well. Especially on heavier oil. You can see the ball reading the mids and then flip on the backend.

HIT: This ball is the hardest hitting ball I have ever thrown. Every time it is near the pocket I feel sorry for the pins because of the loud, crisp smack that this ball makes as it throws pins in every direction. Keeps the pins low and messengers are of the regular when this ball hits.

READABILITY: It reads the lanes well, but will jump off of any dry boards pretty hard. Like I said, it is rather angular of a move for this type of ball. I guess if I want an arc, I needed to kick the mb way out. Either way I am very happy with this ball.

FINAL IMPRESSION: Hands down the best ball Track has made to date. It reads the lane well, hits the pins hard and responds very well to hand position changes. Solid performer, it gets a perfect 10!!

This ball will hook! After a few games with this ball was easy to control if you h give the ball any hand.

I picked up my Animal last night, before my Sport League at Beverly lanes.

I decided to drill up the Animal, that had a 4 inch pin, 2-3/4 TW.
Drilled the pin over the ring finger, CG stacked under it, MB an inch towards the PAP, next toe the thumb. (which is approx. 5 x 4 for me.)

I had my spans, finger pitches, and thumb pitches changed (which is a whole different topic in itself). I use an oval thumb sleeve, which wasn't inserted at the correct angle. Rather than pulling the oval I fiddled with the thumb hole filing, until i came out of the ball fairly clean. I was expecting a super hooking ball. Thought it would finish about 5-6 boards more than my Slash. I knocked the cover down slightly with a Green SB.

Started the night on lanes 1-2, playing out around the 5-6 board. I was trying to get used to the span and lateral finger pitch changes, and minor thumb pitch changes, and waited for this ball to hook the lane.
I realized pretty quickly, (after I became fairly comfortable with the new drilling) that there was not enough oil outside 10, and the ball was burning up. By then I had shot a 160 game (w/ 3 splts).

The 2nd game, I was targeting about 9-10, pretty much straight down the boards, shot 212 (clean).

We shoot 2 games and move...

Moved to 15-16. Started X, 6-7-10, 2-7...I started migrating inside toward 13-14 board, shot 169, w/pocket 7-10 in the 10th.

Next game, I moved my line to 17, slight swing to about 13. Started X, 7-pin spare, 4 bagger, 7 pin spare, bucket spare, Turkey, 7 pin for 245.

Ball is a great addition, and works really well for the condition it was drilled for.
Ball has surprising length for a particle ball...I even used it for my 7 pin, and all other spares. If I hit up the back it went dead straight.

The 245 game won the Survivor pot...a bonus!

Reaction
This ball for me starts up earlyer then any other ball I have rolled. The reaction is great. It starts up at about 25 feet, and it then starts its arc to the pocket. I have never had a ball move this strong on oil before. It even moved on 45 feet of mop oil. I wish I had two. Rating 10

Readabily
Not the ball to use for readability. Even if the oil is slightly on the light side it will burn up. So dont even try it on mid heavy, mid, and never try on light. This ball is not the ball to read the lanes with. Yet if you can get the speed high enough you can use it on these oil types. Yet I dont think this ball should be used for less then heavy oil.

Versitility
This ball with even the slightest cover change can make a world of change. If you have it with a high grit and then a slight polish and this will be the greatest backend ball you could ever have. If you put a smooth cover this ball it can be the best mid condition ball ever. If you put a heavy grit on this ball and leave it at that you will have the best oil ball ever made. Rating 10

Hit
This ball gives the ideal hit. If you roll it and you hit the pocket and you leave somthing, you probly didnt hit your mark or you did somthing in your release. This ball hits the pins with such raw power and it keeps them lower then anyball I have ever seen. This makes for great carry. You have yet to see a great hit untill you roll with this ball. Rating 10

Overall comments
I dont know if I will ever find a ball to replace this ball. I know for a fact that this ball will be in my bag for years to come. Yet this ball has well over 1000 games on it. It cleans up great with a hot water bath. With that it will be in my back untill the day that it totally cracks. Untill that day this ball will roll on the lanes out of my hand. Best ball ever made is not strong enough to describe how much I love this ball. Rating Infinity.

Driiled my Animal Ping below ring, cg stacked, 5" span, no weight hole.
Bowl on mostly light to medium oil, med speed, high revs, from board 30 to board 8-10.
This ball is smooth. It's a lot different entry to the pocket than my Freak Out which is more aggressive, but the entry to the pocket is sweet and it hits like a Mack truck! Nothing negative I can say about this ball, it's done well for me. Still figuring it out though, but it's Track...cannot go wrong with it!

I had it drilled pin under finger with the cg slightly on the right on my palm.box finish.

I have this ball for about 3 to 4 months now.. I use it as my first ball.. as it is very versatile on mid/oily lanes.. however as my speed is fast, I may need to slow the ball down for the oily lanes..though the hit is not as hard as my Columbia300 Bully, but it is more controllable and predictable than it.

Another amazing ball from track! Got it for $30 on ebay and it was money worth spending. Its drilled stacked leverage and has an amazing midlane reaction. It may be too much for the 34 ft ths pattern on the wood lanes I bowl on once a week, but it eats up the longer pattern on the synthetics that I use it on. When others bowling on the longer pattern can't get to the pocket this ball creates much more area for me. The strong roll it gets into creates amazing carry percentage for me. I'm a medium speed player with a low to medium track and quite a bit of axis tilt. I've found that track balls like the animal and the phenom unleashed are very good balls for my style. I give this ball a 9/10.

Please see my 5/28/2004 review for all specs, below.

I had the instincts to revisit this ball. Hadn't used it in many months. Pulled it out on a whim. Recently re-read BTM review on this ball which stated that it was an extremely versatile piece.

Used it on a genuinely lite oil shot, and to my surprise, this ball held up extremely well, even in the tracked areas of the lane, all three games!

Shot my highest set of this year a 706!
Previously, I had been using this ball only on mediums and medium/ heavy patterns. Once again, this is a testimony to the ingenuity over at Track!
Great piece. The carry was ridiculous!
