Put this ball away if you have hook, in the mid lane.  This ball reads the mid better than any ball I have seen thus far.  When I have enough oiil to throw this ball it's an absolute champ. We haven't drilled one for someone that doesn't like this ball. That says something about it's vesatility. This ball is "free spun" for a reason demand your pro shop follow the intructions and you will be happy too.

Been using it for a while now.  Very pleased.

On Oil:  I have this ball drilled for a high track shot.  I have been very pleased.  It will hook in oil as long as you let it work.  Revving it up makes it go long and react rapidly as it comes off the oil with this drill pattern.

As the lanes break down: Just Put it away.  It is deceptive.  I wont roll out but it will begin reacting in an unpredictably twitchy way.  The deceptive thing is that it is tough to tell it is reacting oddly until you switch balls.  It is so subtle that it is easy to miss.  My new rule for this ball is: If it comes back with oil on it, then fine.  If not it goes in the bag.

Overall:  Love it.  It does exactly what I wanted it to do.  Mine has a very specialized drilling that limits its overall general use potential, but that is what I wanted.  I would certainly buy another or any other track product after purchasing this ball.

P.S. KEEP IT CLEAN.

Got one of these about 3 weeks ago and it has been my first ball outta the bag ever since. I'm fairly heavy handed with medium speed, although some people tell me that I do throw it hard, and a med-low track. I had this ball drilled with the pin just above and between the fingers with the mass bias swung about 1.5" to the right of the thumb. Since getting the ball, my LOW night was averaging 210 and high has been close to 260 for the set. I do hear a lot of people say switch this ball out when the lanes break up, but I have yet to run into a condition where I'm kept from moving a little deeper into the lane to pick up whatever oil I need to keep the ball on target. It's been blowing racks out be the hit high, flush, or light in the pocket. This is definately an all around great ball for me, personally, and as versitile as the ball is, I have little doubt that others wouldn't find it the same way.

My specs I am Right handed power stroker about 320 rpm, about 17 mph, pap 5 3/4" over, 1/2" up.
Ball specs 15lb. 2oz top before drilling pin 2.5" drilled rev leverage for longer oil patterns with carrydown so little top weight that no x hole was necessary, will check again before tournament time.

For an aggressive ball, the Freak really gets through the heads well, this is due mostly to the tall weight block which takes a few feet to start revving up.

Once the Freak hits the break point, it is all muscle. It picks up more revs than any ball I have seen in a while, and makes a strong and continuous move to the pocket. The Freak hits the pins so hard that they make a cracking sound.

The Freak is responsive to changes in wrist position, and still provides a good pop at the pins through carrydown.

Over all I would recommend this ball to anyone having trouble opening up the lanes on a tight shot with carrydown. It seems to widen the break point and give good carry power on this shot. Everything else has been too dry for it, because of the drilling pattern I expect.

Drilled 5 by 4. Pin over fingers. I took a scotch brite pad to it. To make it rev up more easily on oil. I shot 300 with it a month after buying it. I really like how much length I get and the fact that i can use it on heavy oil. Too much ball for sport shots. You need to get it wide so there is room for the backend. A pretty versatile equipment. 9 out of 10

I have recently shot another 300 with it and found pretty easy to use as long as there is head oil. Also good on a heavy sport i guess
All I want is to carry.....when I find the pocket

I'm a right hander I got the pin under my ringer finger and it has a side hole, and it's sanded I love that ball I throw it out to get the backend or play inside and just crush the pocket. When the lanes are dry I stand on the 1st dot left of the center and throw it on the 2nd arrow about 19 mph and it kills the pocket.

My first review, may as well be for my favorite ball. Pin just above ring finger and Mass Bias in the the #2 or strong position. 15lb, 4 oz top wgt, 4 in pin. Tried to throw like my other equipment and really struggled. Polished with Magic Shine, took some speed off to give that tall core a little time to work and Wow! In eight weeks my low series was a 670 with a high series of 761 including a 299. Great job Track!! Can't wait for the SUPER FREAK!!!

Drilled pin over ring finger, CG out about an inch, MB in strong position.

This ball out of the box is good on all sorts of conditions.  It is great on medium to heavy oil with fresh backends.  If you have killer hand, it will even work on moderate carrydown.  This Track ball hits as hard or harder than any of their other equipment.  The only thing this ball isn't useful on is lighter or short patterns.

I bowled some of my highest series using this ball, and overall it was great until it died.  I threw over 200+ games with my Freak, and I think a combo of scotchbrite and poor cleaning techniques killed the ball.

I am a little upset Phil left Track, because his coverstocks were some of the best covers in the whole sport.  Those combined with the great cores the old Triton line used made some terrific balls.  I am anxiously waiting a chance to try his DynoThane products now.

After reading several reviews saying the Freak died I had to repost another review on this ball.

I had mine the entire winter season plus several tournaments and it has not lost its reaction at all. Same hit and reaction as day one. I did however keep the ball clean. After every use it was cleaned with neo tac hook-it.

Overall this ball does not move like the Mutant, but certainly hooked more in the backend than my trauma response.
If there is anything negative I can say is that if you sand it down too much it loses its length. But even sanded it retains its hit.
I like this ball so much it has pulled me into the Track line of equipment.

After well over 100 games the ball is still awesome. Maybe you have to keep the surface clean. As with any of the equipment out today take of the ball and it will take care of you.

I've had this ball for about 3 months.  I've waited this long to post a review because of all talk about the coverstock going "bad".
Well I've kept this ball clean after every tournament and after every league and after every practice session.  Last night I shot 215, 279 and 194 (my fault I missed a couple of easy spares).  I think this ball has roughly around 250 games on it, and it still rolls, snaps, hits the breakpoint and destroys the pins just like new.  My point is, that a fall and summer league is about 240 games. So if you keep this Freak clean it should last you a long time.

Awesome ball, rolls so smooth, clears the heads very nice, especially for a particle ball.  Does get a very nice hard arc on the backend and the hitting power is incredible.  Shot a couple 250s with the ball already in the limited time that I've had it (about 2 weeks).  Check profile for information about my game...ball is drilled pin directly below ring finger, and if you draw a straight line down through to the thumb, the cg is right on that line about 3 inches away from the pin.  The hit is amazing and overall i'm very happy with the Freak

I love this ball. I throw a full roller and I know I don't put that much into the ball but all that matters is how they fall. In January I went to this youth tournament in Richmond, Va and shot 827. I was amazed also all I know is that the pins were exploding off the deck. Now all my balls I get are by Track I guess you can say I'm superstitious. I got a Threat and Thrash now and I still love the way Track balls kill the pins. Keep it going Track.

I had this ball for about 6 months and used it as my primary ball.  It was the first one out of the bag every night for league and practice.  This was a great ball for me and I had some great scores with it until it "died".

I tried everything to rejuvenate this ball but it just lost it's bite.  So beware of this before you purchase one.
