Well, this was another hand me down that had less than 30 games on it. It was drilled for early roll, so I automaticly got rid of that cause of my style (18 years old, righty, high revs and heavy hand). Re drilled for a bigger snap than usual and had it polished it so I can use it on synthetic lanes when the shot is not that long and there is just enough back end. I used it in league the day I got it drilled, did not bowl to well but once I found the pocket it carried. Worked on it, and have used it for about 25-30 games. In three tourniments that I have bowled with it I have not shot spectacular, but have manages 697, 733, and 789 (that was my best show with the ball). I love this on synthetics much better than wood, and if I could use it better on wood it would be my favorite, but that is still my assasin.

The Heat 2 is a very versatile ball. I have used it sanded 1000 grit, out of box and highly polished. My favorite condition for this ball is walled up bumper condition you find in a lot of bowling centers these days. The condition where your only concern is will you be able to carry the corners and keep up with everyone else. This ball allows you to keep up. I have it drilled with the pin 1in above my ring finger and the cg 4in to the positive side. As long as I have dry to turn this ball around it will recover from anywhere. Great arsenal ball from Track. For me this was their best ball last year.

This is the first time i have tried to post a review so bare with me if i don't explain things real well. I have mine drilled to go long and arc on the back end so that i can move in and play 25-15-6 when the outside of the lane dries out and my KO Punch starts to hit flat. This ball is great for the shot i got it for. It goes through the heads clean and makes a good turn for the pocket. If you push it wide it will just turn harder and caries everything but mabe solid 4 or 9. If you pull it the ball will just sit a few feet longer and still hit like a truck, mabe a soft 7 or flat 10 but usually ten in the pit. My only complaint with this ball was that it wouldn't turn on oil right out of the box. I threw  4 frames with it factory and i could see it flipping but it just wouldn't turn so i had Mickey knock the shine off it for about 30 seconds and that did the trick I punched the last 8 for a 237 and finished the 3 games with a 655. I can also take my hand out of this ball and play right up the ditch by just allowing the dynamics of the core and coverstock to take over and the ball is still devistating. I love this ball and infact have just drilled the pearl with the same layout for drier conditions. I would say 10/10 so long as you adjust the coverstock to your liking.

Well the Heat 2 is an ok ball. It goes really long and has awesome backend pop. The problem sometimes is that it has a tendancy to go too long and not make it back. But on most common lane conditions it fits perfectly. The carry isn't that great I don't think though. It has its days but really doesn't have consistent good carry. But for the most part I like the Heat 2 but I don't love it.

Ball is awesome. Never shot over 740 before (215 average for last 2 years), got a few weeks in with this ball and came out with a 277-222-298=797 in scratch league. Drilled 3 3/8 x 5 (did it myself) out of box surface. This ball kicks out 10s better than anything I have ever had or seen. Gonna buy another for the closet. Thrack for Life!

When I first got this ball it was OK. It worked for me when there was medium to light head oil and allot of dry backend. On this type of condition I could stand left, play 5th arrow and never worry about over-throwing my breakpoint. The problem was I didn't see this condition often. I then sanded the cover to 320 and polished it with liquid sandpaper. Now this is my primary heavy oil ball and the unexpected benefit I found was I could still stand left and get good lenght from this ball when the condition got drier. I've purchased a couple of supposed heavy oil balls in the last few months and I find I prefer the reaction and carry I get from the Heat2 on oily conditions better than anything I have in my arsenal (which consists of about 20 balls).

Aquired this ball through a trade for an elixir.  I think I got the good end of the bargain.  This ball is set up very similar to my TEC Messenger ( 2 in. pin, ring finger about an inch to the left and above the pin.  Big weight hole on my PAP).  This ball is an excellent supplement to my Orange Messenger.  It goes just about as long as the messenger, but has a tamer backend reaction making it the perfect go to ball after the 2nd game.  Overall the carry is exceptional, just left a few stone 8s when I needed a strike, but it's all good.  Thanks, Good luck and good bowling!

Great ball. IT hits great and it has a nice snap to it at the end. Even after i resurface it 3 time it still hits like it was a brand new ball. I shot 5 of my 14 300s with this ball, everyone should have it.

As one of my favourite balls in the entire Track arsenal, I managed to acquire one from my local proshop just last week (28/8/02).

Ball:  15lb 4oz, 3 oz top weight, 3" pin

Drilling:  3 3/8 x 3 3/8 with balance hole at 6" across on grip centre line

Lane condition tested on:  Tapered christmas tree, noticably drier from 0-7, 45ft in the middle.

Results:  This ball continues to amaze me with its hit ability.  Never over-reacting this ball provides a solid and defined turn to the pocket with little or no roll out.  The coverstock is super versatile, from extreme dull to box finish, you can do anything with this ball.  I shot 237, 229 in the 2 games I tested it.  First game bowling 14 out to 7, second game slowing the speed down and lifting the revs to play 20 out to 7.  Both times the ball made it back and kept driving through the pin deck like there is no tomorrow.

This is my second Heat 2 and if I find another I'll get it and put it away.  A perfect match up of core and coverstock, another winner from Track!!

I just recently purchased this ball! The third one I think we are starting a trend! This ball rolls absolutely great. We layed it out with the pin over the fingers and the cg just below my fingers. I left the out of the box on it and it went just a little too far down the lane for me so we scuffed it up with a pad. And it rolled quite a bit better. I think the heat 2's are very good bowling balls. A great house shot ball not too sure about the sport shot though. I would recommend this ball to almost anyone except a pure stroker. The ball would simply just not get into a roll. Well until next time.
Good Luck and Good Bowling,
Michael

If you are familiar with our other reviews you may know that every so often a ball comes along that we give an exceptionally positive review to, this is one of those balls.  The Heat 2 makes us wonder why anyone with even an average rev rate would ever spend more money than needed to get one of these.

We have drilled several Heat 2's but the balls we observed for this review were drilled as follows.  The first was a pin and c.g. 4 1/2" from the p.a.p. with an extra hole 6" from the grip center on a line through the c.g. (which put it an inch below the axis) This ball was tested in it;s out of the box condition with polish added after several games.  The second ball was drilled with the pin above the ring finger and the c.g. at ½ positive, this ball was also tested in it's out of the box condition.  The third ball was drilled with the pin on the grip line below the fingers with the c.g. at ½ negative, the pin was 6" from the p.a.p.  This ball was wet sanded from 600 to 1500 and polished to a high gloss using Neo-Tac's Control It.

The balls were all tested on synthetic lanes conditioned using the Kegel Elite machine.  We bowled on patterns that were both fresh and broken down and in league play.  We were also using a new tester being a classic straight player, a tremendous bowler who regularly bowls in the senior scratch events in the Michigan area.  Our other tester was our regular stroker type who throws about 17 mph with between 19 and 21 revolutions at about 45 degrees of axis rotation.

There was literally nothing negative to say about this ball once our tests were over!  Apart from the obvious, that it can't handle the desert dry, there isn't anything that this ball can't do.  The carry is as good as any ball we have ever seen, let alone tested.  The shell is adjustable and although we only had to dull the shell on one occasion for the straight player on a longer pattern with some carry-down, it worked perfectly.  The ball with the pin over the fingers and the ball with the pin under the fingers were similar in their reaction, the obvious difference being that the ball with the pin above the fingers went slightly longer before reacting.  The Heat 2 is as strong as a ball can be without being uncontrollable and hits like nothing we have seen in a long time.  We know some folks who say the original Heat was the best ball they ever threw, this ball has to be as good as that was and perhaps better.

The most impressive aspect of our tests was that under any circumstance, if we were able to create enough skid to get to the break point (no matter how-speed hand positions etc) the ball was the best option we had!  Even if we were able to stand farther right with another ball, we would still carry better using the Heat from farther left.  This ball has it all, smooth, predictable and strong reaction on the back end, no over-under, an adjustable shell and the best pin crushing action anyone could ever ask for.  The straighter player we used for some of these tests was so impressed with the Heat 2 he has since drilled two more!

Even though this ball isn't what could be called "cheap", it isn't up there in price with some of the higher end balls going.  That said, this ball is one that is most certainly worth the money.  All but the slowest players on the driest lanes will find many uses for the Heat 2 and will score with it if they have ever scored with anything!  We confidently recommend this ball as often as any other we have ever had in our shop.  If you have any questions regarding this or any of our other reviews, e-mail us at: proshop@bowlero.com

Wow!  I love this ball.  It's drilled 45 degrees from label.  This ball is the most consistent rolling ball in my bag.  When all else fails for me, this is my go to ball.  I have bowled with it on numerous shots with outstanding results.

had the ball for a long time, shot well with it. but now i am throwing the ball a little harder and it doesnt want to come up. so the ball is good for medium lanes. but the ball carries well. i really dont have any complaints about it. im a hard throwing cranker and for me. this ball still works.
