specs: 15lb 3oz. Top 2 1/4 pin 0-1
Bowler Stats: Righthander; 17-19mph; tweener / moderate amount of hand

Drilled this one straight over the label with a slight shift of the cg..ended up a little on the negative side. With this type of inverted lightbulb core and this drilling this ball gets down the lane and turns hard. On fresh med to heavy oil the ball squirts past the breakpoint a bit much, but on some carrydown...watch out, this ball sets nice in the dry. Keeps the pins very low.

An 8 out of 10 from Track!!

This ball came to me by accident really. I was working at the local bowling center and it was behind our desk. It turns out that the guy that had it, didn't want it so he gave it to me. Damn am I glad he did. This ball clears the fronts unbelievably and once it hits the backends, it just turns to the pocket and doesn't stop. It's carry isn't too bad either. In other words, it hits very very hard. What I really like about this ball is that even though it goes real long, it starts up earlier than most of my other stuff. This is one of the better Track balls I have ever thrown period.

This ball is the best ball I have ever thrown.  I have a 15.4 lbs drilled with over the label, pin 3-4 and rolling it out of the box.  I am a long time league bowler with limited experience with new equipment.  The results I get from this ball are awsome!  It works for me.  Just let it go and it hunts for the pocket and delivers the altimate carry.  Best Christmas present I ever gave myself.  It's smooth on dry backends and gets there through the oil.  Thanks for the info on this ball from other reviewers, it made my choice easy.  I have a 290 with this ball and won most improved bowler in my League with a 15 pin increase.  Thank you Track for a supreme ball

I got this ball a couple of months back and it has the most backend I've ever seen. I won a scholorship tournament using this ball and I've had my highest sanctioned series with it. Now this ball doesn't have alot of hook but with the backend on this ball you don't need the hook. I'm giving this ball a ten and thank you Charlie's Pro Shoppe.

I recently purchased and drilled this ball out. All I can say is WOW!! I love this ball. It pretty much does all the work for you. I havent thrown any spectacular games with it YET, but I can say that this ball just finds the pocket no matter where you throw it. It seems to allow for a margin of error on your part and will still come back and crush the pocket. It hits hard and moves well. I use mine on med. conditions with a little carry down and it is great. It is drilled up with the pin to the right of my ring finger and the cg kicked out about 2". It has a weight hole as well. I love this ball and recommend it to anyone. This ball is versatile and will fit many different styles of players. Great ball from Track.

I got one used from the strikinmachine.  It got damaged during shipping but i took it out on the lanes today.  I longer oil pattern (7 to 7 to 45) with light loading and crisper backends.  I had to put the ball away after one game because the damage got too extensive (bridge falling apart) but got a good feel for it.

Ball is drilled the same as my predator that i love.  Pin below ring finger, cg stacked below.  2" pin.  Ball polished.

I hope all games with the ball are not like the one i threw, i feel as though a hex was put on me.  11 shots is in pocket for a 190.  Yes, a 190.  That included three pocket 7 10's, one in the third, fifth, and ninth all on the left lane.  The strange thing is that all the other shots were deck shattering blasts, only one other open due to tugging the ball (my fault) thru the nose for a split.

I really like the reaction though, long and boom.  Like my predator but for dryer conditions.  Compliment well.

But only one game on it, will have to update later.

Greatness

I Got my Hex about 10 months ago and i like it alot.  I have a 3-4 pin with pin just above my ring finger.  It performs well when playing outside and in heavy oil.  I suggest this ball for any bowler because it has many different possible shots no matter what type of bowler you are.  I give this ball lots of room and it always finds its way with lots of hitting power.  Either coming in light or a little high I like the way the TRACK hex performs.  I give it a 9-10

HEX-REVMASTER.....Used on 38' Christmas tree. Box condition.  Drilled with pin under ring, CG center of palm.  Low tracker.  Lives up to its name REVS.  Reads the dry not early but not late.  Pretty good recovery.  Hit is weak with any sign of carry down.  If they are awarding points for biggest hook on dry backends, this one will do.   Other than that??????

Hex, 15 lbs, 3 oz of tw, 2-3 inch pin.

Drilled stack leverage. I use this ball when I practice and I also used it on a 33ft sport pattern. Control, control, control. Thats all this ball is. I think its a great introductory level ball due to its control. Not in anyway intended for heavy oil or a moderate amount of medium oil unless there are violent backends to pull the Hex out of its skid. All in all another great ball from Track. The hit is good and I have NEVER seen this ball rollout. Real continous move just doesnt stop.

Drilled up w/my favorite set up w/out the extra hole, this ball rolls early, and snaps late, similar to my 2nd tko w/out the big hook. This ball doesn't like oil, i love it on med. Tends to be a bit snappy on dry, and slides on oil. Speed control is a must, very easy to throw this ball threw the break point. Great ball for the price, I'm looking forward to throwing the voodoo and hextream. this was a great replacement for my too light, cracking trition elite pearl.
The pleasure has been yours.

Had relagated this ball to my tournament only bag, but found myself using it this evening in league so I found it my duty to post my review of this ball.

This ball ROCKS!  Bowled this evening on a medium lane condition about 35 ft standard 10 to 10 pattern for the house I bowl in.  Played from a lay down point of 20 out to around 10 and crushed out the pocket.  If not for one bad release, I spun it off my hand I could be sizing myself for the all elusive ring.

My Hex, which I bought used from a guy who said it don't hook, is drilled leverage.  With the exception of that bad release and my inability to figure out the proper hand position to get the ball down the lane in the third game this ball did no wrong.  If pulled it held a tight line to the pocket, if thrown too wide it made a hard left turn to the pocket.

All in all, one of my favorite balls for now and barring a miracle happening with the crunch I will be purchasing soon my favorite Track ball.

Ball: drilled 4x4 pin below ring finger, factory coverstock

Lane Conditions: various, wood lanes only

Hook: SUPER LONG and SUPER STRONG!!! Basically the same as the Crunch Time, just a hair less. 8.0

Control: Slightly more tame on the backend than the Crunch Time. It did not read the dry near as quick. 8.5

Hit: This is where I saw a difference between the Hex and the Crunch Time, the Hex hits well, but nowhere near the CrunchTime. If I miss out wide playing deep it would get back, but not quite enough to carry the 10 pin out. 7.0

Readability: Readable ball. For most it would be a first ball out of the bag kind of ball. Transitions smoothly from the wet to dry, and is on the dry a little bit before it makes its move. 8.5

Overall: It can be used on almost anything, but I would stop at the med/heavy. It will not handle carrydown like the CrunchTime. I see this ball being more advantageous for those with slower ball speeds or higher revs.

OVERALL RATING: 8.5

This is for the Darkside not the regualr Hex.....another oldie but goodie so here goes.

Lucky Me
Lane Conditions: Medium-Light Oil
Typical Conditions: Variety of Shots
Type of Lane: Combination
What part of the lane did you play? Third Arrow
Did the ball track out? Normal
Weight of bowling ball: 16
Surface of bowling ball: Factory/Box
Likes: Smooth length with control to the pocket, power, and impact on the pins.
Dislikes: Carrydown, and playing deeper than the fourth arrow and expect to cover some boards.

My proshop was lucky enough to pick up a few of these, and my Darkside is 16lbs, with a pin out distance of 2-3 inches. The top weight is 2.75 oz, and it's drilled with the pin under the ring finger stacked over the CG...and all this is ever so slightly to the right of the ring finger.

The reaction I get from the Darkside is similar to a Sonic Solid, very even, smooth, and controlled. It is about five boards stronger overall than the Sonic Solid, but works just as effective. It adapts easily to hand and speed releases and works well on most medium conditions. If you have too much carrydown, or oil put the ball away, because it will slide through the deck.

The Darkside works well on all angles of the lane until you get deeper than the fourth arrow. It will have some recovery problems unless you can throw it slow enough to keep it strong on the backend.

The ball hits hard and carries well like all the other Track equipment out there.

For all those Track fans looking for a lighter oil ball you should have picked this one up when you could.
