Description: Kinetic Energy is the second ball in the Upper Mid Price line for Track. Kinetic Energy features the same outstanding Shuttle core as in the original Kinetic, with identical core numbers. We have wrapped an all new UMP Gen 2 coverstock around her to complement the reaction to the original. Now the Energy does just that it uses up the bowlers energy sooner but will still give the Hugh backend we all expect from the Kinetic ball line.

Got this ball last week, drilled fairly weak, pin under the middle finger (right hander) with the MB kicked out just to the right of the thumb.

I bought this ball for a tournament, with a very poor version of the chameleon pattern that had a huge bump down lane about 45 feet, it worked flawlessly, hit like a truck, backend reaction was huge, was perfect and did anything you asked it to. The coverstock responded well to both surface changes I've tried.

I was shocked to find this ball wasn't nearly as strong as I thought it would be. It's clean through the heads, picked up well in the midlane, and made a huge move on the back.

My only issue with the ball, I put the bit into the ball for the thumb, a chunk about as big is a penny flew out and hit me in the cheek. Called Track, new one was sent out last Friday.

What I was to expect/what I wanted: I expected the ball to read the midlane better than the Kinetic while using more energy, but still be stronger on the backend. What I wanted was the ball to read the midlane more than my Mean Machine, and backend just as hard(if not close) as my Rising.

The layout we went with: Pin beneath and slightly right of my ring finger, 3 7/8" from PAP, MB kicked out 50 degrees, with a small hole(maybe 1/4" in VAL for more flare/backend.
 
What I got: Exactly what I asked for and then some. On a lane after the 1st shift and still OOB at the time I had to play pretty deep and play a big angle to get the KE where it needed to be. Apparently, the KE is suitable for medium-heavy, but pending the rev rate, layout, and surface it may even be too much for a medium condition-but that's just from my point of view. I really wanted to compare it to another ball, so I decided to use my Kinetic(which is back to OOB) to show the extreme difference between the two.  I've posted a video in the forum.  Look for Kinetic Vs. I have since taken the KE down to 2000, and sits inbetween my Rising, and MM-where I wanted it to be! I'd like to toss it on a PBA condition first before I can assess any further.  However, I believe the KE is one of the best balls Track has come out with in quite a while, possibly since the Power Machine for me.

Season's off to a decent start-225 avg after 27 games.

I drilled up my Third Energy Monday and threw it for the first time in league on friday. I went 263 264 237 for 769. I put the pin outside the ring finger about 4 1/2 from pap and kicked out the mass bias from the thumb around 2 1/2 ball rolls just like it should. Starts up in the midlane and has very stong move to the pocket only reason I did'nt shoot 800 was because I left 6 9 pins throught the second and last game. Very strong and versital. Fits right in with the rest of the track line very well.

Reaction
The reaction I get off this ball is clean in the heads, a lot of grab in the mid-lane, and a lot of good strong backend continuation. The reaction for me is close to what most guys with less hand get from a leverage layout. I love this reaction and it works great for me on THS. I get good solid consistent reaction, but it is easy for me to control. I tried it OOB when it was first drilled and then when it was released and I got it back. I didn’t like the 2000 with polish on it. It made it to over under, and that was something I knew was with the cover because I didn’t get that from this layout ever. I took it to 1500 sheen with clean and sheen, by hand. I love the reaction I get now. First set after the cover change was 796.

Readability
This is a great ball to read the lanes with, weather it be on synthetics or wood. This ball is a good all around ball. It easily shows what the pattern is doing because of how well transitions. If I have to get a read on a pattern this is the ball I go with. I love the way it transitions. It is good smooth but still pop on the back to help recover if you miss.

Versatility
Good here to, the only thing that keeps it from great is that it don’t take to the lighter side of conditions to well. It needs some oil, where the Kinetic had more skid. Other then dry, it can handle most other conditions. It just needs some cover adjustment and that is about it.

I love this ball. Up until I got it, the Rising couldn’t be pulled out of my hand. Then after I got this thing, and I made the cover change it took right over. This was the best mid-season release last year. Hands down nothing better. So good, and because of how good it is, there is not much I can put into words. The worst this is that it doesn’t take to hand release changes well.

Expectation: Wanted to enhance the midlane read on this ball, (to compliment the length layout on the kinetic) but keep a strong continuation in the backend.

his is just a mini review after bowling about 4 games. Very smooth through the heads w/ a very strong midlane rev in the midlane and still retain alot of enrgy in the backend. So far have found this ball to be a good goto ball when the lanes seem a little difficult to read. Will take this up to a tournament in PA over the weekend and see how this ball fairs.
