I punched mine with a 55x4.5x50 layout.  The Mako Attack offers slightly more length than its solid predecessor, but still rolls relatively early for a hybrid.  On a fresh THS, it rolls nicely offering enough mid-lane reaction to still hit the pocket on inside misses.  I found this ball performs extremely well once the fresh tournament or THS pattern begins to breakdown.  When competing on the broken down USBC White pattern, this ball was superb offering enough length to get through drier heads without having to significantly increase ball speed. 

Summary – This ball offers more length and a more angular reaction than the original Mako.  While usable on a fresh THS pattern I found this ball really shines as the second ball out of my bag when my upper performance solid begins to burn up.  Players with a lot of tilt will love this ball when fresh conditions begin to dry out.  Players with slower ball speeds or less tilt should find this ball to be a great option right out of the gate on slightly drier THS patterns.

The new Mako Attack is a great compliment to the Mako. I was surprised with how strong this ball was. I was not expecting it to be as strong as it is. As far as hook potential goes, it is very close to the Mako. However, it is a lot cleaner and a lot more angle down lane. This ball can really open up the lane for you. I have had issues with Assym pearls in the past with getting them to see the lane properly and go thru the pins properly. This one so far I have not had that issue yet. I have mine drilled 45x4.25x45 with no hole. The colors look great on the ball as well.
On flatter sport patterns, I am not sure this will be your first option, its not for me, but as the lanes open up this is when this ball will shine. On your typical house patterns, don't be afraid to stand left and throw it right. The ball will get back. I haven't seen this ball just flat out skid too far yet. Seems to really create the correct angle to carry pretty well for me.

House Shot Patterns Fresh and Broken Down

The Mako Attack is a really good compliment to the Mako I don’t see a huge difference between the two of them but they are different as far as shape.  Reading the lane I have the Mako being a little earlier but both are still smooth and continuous on the backend with tremendous finish through the pins.  I tried the Mako Attack out of box and I couldn’t believe the amount of angles I could play with it I was getting a really good feel for the reaction and the finish through the pins.  I rolled with it at another bowling center and it was not getting around the corner like I wanted it to.  Prior to the next week I put the 500/3000 surface on it which made the Mako Attack earlier then I wanted it to be.  That gave me a different reaction that I might use later on down the line but not for that house pattern.  I then put 2000/3000 on it and now I am able to see a consistent reaction on various house patterns.  That tells me a few things versatile cover as far as surface adjustment and Modified “Rico Layout” in this type of ball is not bad for me.  I still have to try it in a symmetrical bowling ball.  I have seen various styles use the Mako Attack if you’re looking for something to compliment the Mako or if you never had the Mako the Mako Attack is a great option, the reaction and finish are true to its name.
