COMMENTS

Likes: This ball is a great and is my bench mark ball. I have had no issues with this ball clearing the heads and making a left at the back end. I have thrown this ball on the fresh THS and burn and this ball will clear the heads on both and make a left. I was able to throw this while on the burn of route 66 and was able to get in and make the ball get to the pocket. The mid lane read on this ball is what makes this ball. I get same mid lane read with my 811c/t but I get more on the back end with the MX10. This ball is a must have.

Dislikes: Nothing.

LANE CONDITION

Length: 42 foot THS and Scorpion

Volume: Med / High

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS , PBA

COMMENTS

Likes:  This ball seems to work best for me when the lanes are starting to break down a bit.  On the fresh it felt just a bit over under.  Once they broke down though, this ball really starts to shine.  It rev's up early for me and has a very continuous motion in the backends.   On the Scorpion pattern I had the same problem at first with the fresh, but after a couple of games, it rolled beautifully and carried very very well.

Dislikes: Fresh, larger volumes of oil.

Avg Speed: 17.5
Rev Rate: 375-400
PAP: 5 x ¾ up
Layout: 53 x 4 5/8 x 38

Looking for a ball that would clear the fronts but work through carry down when my skid flip equipment would shoot through the oil down lane. Looks like the Mx10 will do just that.

The Hybrid coverstock adds some traction to the ball and also dulls out the jerk.

Positives: Makes a strong move and keep the pins very low in the back. Very useful for someone who is trying to create angles without losing carry. Clears the fronts exceptionally well.

Negatives: Can be a little tame with this particular layout in the back. With a more aggressive layout the ball will cover more boards, but for players with speed it may not be a “hook monster.”

This is a quintessential benchmark ball. Predictable motion with strong finish.

Tried the ball on three patterns.

1) 40 foot house pattern with low volume: Pattern plays very dry in the middles. Was able to move in and use this balls drive and angles to combat the dry down lane and stay closer to the track. Ball made a strong move and really controlled the backend without losing aggression.

2) 42 foot house pattern with high volume: Pattern plays very slick. Was able to play up the track and never worry about overreaction in the heads. Couple of shots did bail out on the back, but with the box surface that is not a surprise on that type of pattern.

3) Kegel Dead Man’s Curve: Pattern is 43 feet and had a high volume 13 and out. The ball struggled – as did everything I had – with the volume down lane. Inside, however, it offered a good move and the ability to control the dry as the day wore on and the entire 120 field wore a hole in the middle.

In conclusion, this is a good bridge ball from surface to polish. If you’re looking for a ball to stick in the middle of your arsenal, this should be a choice.

COMMENTS

Likes:Favorite ball in bag right now. The ball is very versatile and works great on oily lanes and once the lanes break down. The coverstock is very clean through the heads and is not to snappy off the dry.

Dislikes: None

LANE CONDITION

Type: 2014 USBC Team and D/S Patterns (at the stadium):

Likes:

I drilled the MX10 up hoping to have the hybrid cover help out as the lanes broke down at the 2014 USBC Nationals. What I ended up with was so much more. I had an aggressive pin down drilling on the ball with a 3000 grit surface. I was able to start outside and still have the hitting power to continue to move inside as the lanes broke down in both Team and the minor events. I ended up with a high game of 288 and an all events total of 1974. This ball is amazing!
