Have had the Mutant for about three weeks now. Its layout is as follows. Pin above ring finger and CG kicked out in line with the right side of the ring finger. The MB is halfway in the thumbhole and the other half off to the right. This ball is spectacular. It hooks like a particle but has the length and hard hitting power of a reactive resin ball. This ball also has a very angular breakpoint which also causes it to come back from everywhere. It easily conquers heavy oil patterns. But, it also seems to like medium oil as well. This is because you can throw it harder and still get it to roar back to the pocket. The only bad thing is it really does not like carrydown after a fresh shot has been laid out. Track really made themselves a name with this one. I give it a 10 out of 10.

Yet another winner from Track! The Mutant (in my limited experience with it so far) feels a little more condition specific the way I have it drilled out, compared to my Freak, but when there's a shot out there for it, look out. And the hitting power is absolutely incredible. There were a few shots last night where the 2 pin ended up disappearing BEHIND the masking unit. Literally tossed the pin UP to where it couldn't be seen, coming back down after everything else was cleared. Needless to say, I was amazed. Ball doesn't seem to like carrydown much, but the core is SO versitile that only a small hand position change helps combat carry down to cover the corner pins.

First ball I've ever owned by Track.....won't be the last. This ball is incredible!!! Factory finish, drilled pin 2" off of ring finger, mass bias in the #2 position (1" off of the thumb), finger grips, thumb sleeve. Normal shot on all synthetic at the house I bowl at is standing 15 left of center shooting at 10. This ball goes long then hooks as soon as it hits a dry board then it's going left. I am a cranker and the more I crank it the harder it comes back. Actually have about 4-5 boards of play to the right of my mark and the ball still reacts the same. When it hits the pocket the pin action is incredible. If a ten pin thought of standing a messenger always comes across to trip it out. I can not say enough about this ball, does everything that I want it to do. Just don't try to stroke this ball with this drill because it will not react. FINGERS!!!! Highly recommend to the cranker that has trouble on heavy oil or even med oil with heavy carry down.

Drilled this ball with pin position 3 (3" from PAP).
Mass Bias Placement 2 (MB 5" from PAP).
Balance hole 0" from PAP.
Ball top weight 2 oz, pin out 3 ", weight 15 lbs 4 oz.
Lane condition: heavy/fresh oil 40' with dry back end.
Lane play cross 20 go down to 5.
This ball is amazing... shot 279, 259, 289 last night.
It's not the ball fault leaving some pins, because I slow down the rev a bit.
If you looking for a heavy oil ball, this is the one.
I gave this ball 10 out 10 rating.
Thank you Track for making such an amazing ball.

MUTANT!

Only had it for 5 days but VERY impressed so far! The most aggressive ball I have ever thrown!

14 3OZ, 2 3/4OZ top weight, 3 inch pin (although box says 3" it measures 2 inch?)

Drilling:
Pin (instructions position #2) pin right above ring.
MB (instructions position #2) 1 1/2 from thumb (right)
Balance hole On PAP 5 1/2 X 3/4 up

I sanded it to 1000 grit (box is 1500)

This ball is killer with plenty of oil! Even used it with medium oil and lots of speed and it comes back charging into the pocket. Goes fairly long then starts its move when it finds some dry, and continues with a smooth yet aggressive angle to the pocket. I think this ball actually "flares in the air" since my track seems to be about 1/2 - 1 inch lower than all of my other balls. I have never seen pins fly like this ball causes! As Aristotle indicated the pins sometimes shoot straight up. Saw several times where all pins are blasted into the pit and one comes down bouncing off the deck. Would not recommend this ball for anything less than medium oil or lots of revs and slower ball speed unless maybe a different drilling. I am not a real high average bowler but have approached the 195 area the last 2 months. So far in practice I shot 203, 214, 267 and 298 in practice! Last night first game in league play I had a 244 then the lanes started to dry up too much by the middle of the second game and, I had to put the Mutant away. This is my first Track ball and I give it a 10 out of 10! This ball hits extremely hard! Truly awesome!

As a staff member for a year now, I have thrown all three of the new Morpheous core balls. This one is the best by far. Handles oil similar to a Freak, corners not quite as hard as a Freak Out, however more versatile than both. At least in my hands.

I drilled my first one pin 5 inches from the axis below the bridge and MB in the #2 position. At first I wasn't so impressed, however the more I throw it, the better it looks. I can get angle on pretty heavily oiled lanes and still carry without making major changes to my game.

Only limitations is when having to go really straight, ball tends to under over, well I guess that makes sense since it is supposed to create a harder move down the lane. That is ok, I have several symmetrical core balls that do that just fine, such as the Threat and the EZ Money.

I have had my Mutant for 3 weeks now, so I felt comfortable writing my review.

My is drilled with the pin right next to the ring finger, and the MB right below the thumb hole. I believe this puts the CG out to the right, about 4 inches, right about halfway in my span. I asked for it to be drilled to start to hook as early as possible as I throw the ball fairly hard (harder than almost anyone in my league) and often kill most of my hook potential with speed. (Please note I'm new to these terms so if I mixed something up, I'm sorry.)

The box finish didn't work for me at all. I had it sanded down with a 400 grit pad (as I do almost all of my equipment) and then applied Doc's Elixer. The result was a ball that hooked in a comfortable manner for me, and really finishes hard. I usually stand around 20, swing out to between 5 and 10, and then back to the pocket.

I don't think I'll ever see the "Hook Monster" in this ball that other people (including my teammates) see, but for me, this ball is very aggressive and flexible, and lets me play a comfortable shot in anything from medium oil on up through much heavier oil with carry down. I've gotten excellent carry so far, especially when I'm not exactly in the pocket.

All in all, I would recommend this ball, and give it a 9 out of 10.

Ive had my mutant for about a month now. Very impressed with this Track ball. I have it drilled with the pin just below ring finger with weight hole in thumb quantrant. Sheet drilling #2 pin out 4 3/4 Factory finish on this ball, it rolls somewhat early but still carries very well never rolling out. This is probably one of if not the best ball that Track has made. I would definately suggest this ball to anyone who wants midlane reaction. Even though the ball (by spec. sheet) should roll extremely early it really doesn't.

what a strong hitting ball this is. when this ball finds dry in the backend it has a giant move with monster hit. great carry and good continuation through the pins very little if any deflection! ive used it on light oil and heavy and had good control on both.i can open up new parts of the lane i cant normaly play with my release.it clears the heads real good for a particale ball.great job track.

I have put about 30 games on this ball in less than a week and now feel comfortable posting a review.

I got this ball used (it sure didn't look like it was) from a gentleman on this site. Span matched exactly, so no plug work was needed. It is drilled with the pin below and between the fingers, CG on my midline and the MB is about 1/2inch below and about 1 inch right of the thumb. No weight hole.

I really like this ball. In box condition it hooks slightly more than the Freak, about 2-3 boards more. It hooks up about 3-4 ft sooner though. That does not mean this ball does not get good length. It just checks up as soon as it hits the dry. All 3 of the balls with the general concept of core hit. They hit hard. What the Mutant does is hit HARD, but the pins never fly back in the same manner. I have had several strikes with this thing where the pins look like every one of them are upside down.

The Mutant is very smooth, and in my opinion more controllable than the Freak. It is not as sensative to hand position changes as the Freak, which means it is more forgiving.

I have another on the way and want to give the new one a slightly more aggressive drill pattern and see what it does. I imagine if this ball was sanded to 600, or even 800 grit it would hook unbelieveably.

Mutant #2

Drilled with the pin below the ring finger, CG out from center 2 inches, and below the midline 1 1/2 inches, and MB and inch to the right and 1 1/2 inches down from the thumb.

This layout did exactly what I wanted this ball to do. I wanted it to get into a roll a little sooner than the other one. The cover being factory "1500 smooth" is great. But it certainly looks to me like the surface is closer to 1000 grit than 1500.

The hit is every bit as good as the first layout I have. Messengers EVERYWHERE!!!!! This one seems to be even more readable than the first one I have. Which is great when the ball and lanes are telling me it is time to put it away. It will probably not get as much play as the first drilling I have due to the pure hook of this layout. But it is exactly what I wanted this ball to do.

I just cannot say enough about this ball.

Got this ball two weekends ago and finally got the opportunity to use it. I have the ball drilled for heavy oil and that is exactly what I encountered. The ball didn't break as much I thought it would, but it broke enough to to make my life a whole lot easier. It hit surprising hard and sent the pins flying all over: however, there were a few instances that it left some nasty pocket splits. After a few games, I became accustomed to the ball. I am glad I stayed with it. Overall, I was impressed with the balls performance under the tightest conditions I've ever bowled in.

First Impression: Nice color, nice logo, smooth to the touch in out of box surface.

Plan for ball: Use it on Exxon Valdez type oil spill

Drill: Pin 6" from PAP, MB on VAL, CG 1" from PAP, 1/2 oz finger, 1/2 oz pos side

Lane Condition, Wet dry, very wet inside dry outside of 5

This ball is too much, I put tape on PAP and this Degenerate Freak had this tape migrate to my track halfway down the lane, that means the MB migrated to its final destination in about 30 Feet!!! Of course this meant it sort of burnt out early too nevertheless when it hit the pocket IT WAS SLAP HAPPY!!!!!!! Truly never had a ball hit this hard.

Pins flew so fast, pins spun at such a high rate, I was truly in awe. I usually buy approx 10 new balls a year but never was I ever so impresses as I was with this BEAUTY.

Played the same line with my flip lev Cure...wash out...WIMPY, still haven't paid for the burger (Wimpy from Popeye always ask for a hamburger today with the promise to pay for it 'next Tuesday')
Played the same line with my stack lev V2 Pearl...wash out...SLUT, teases you into thinking it'll come up then steals your money

I'm not worried about the fast migration because I plan to use it on oil spills which occur often for me on the left during tourneys. Interesting to note, ball flared so much it'd hit my extra hole when I opted to lower my axis tilt and increase my axis rotation, but the hit was still outstanding.

I can't wait to see it in oil. I'm so tired playing straight with stack leveraged 600grit pseudo super balls. My first impression is this here Mutant is the REAL DEAL!
