Description: Track has designed the Mx05 bowling ball to offer medium rev bowlers a shiny cover option for those looking for length and flip. To achieve this reaction Track combined the successful Modified Kinetic core with MR-4 Pearl coverstock and finished it with 500/1000 Abralon with Factory Finish Polish. COMMENTS

Likes: Very even roll, not jumpy at all, and more of an arch than skid snap.
I threw this ball on THS and it worked great. Very smooth but did not make a dead left (as a right hander). I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that this ball didn't jump. I loved the MX16, and MX10 and this fits perfect with those two. As an 05 ball it fits that name. I could get on it and still didn't want to jump which is good for those broken down need the ball to get down the lane type shots. I can see this ball (for me) working great on a Cheetah or something similar short pattern.

Dislikes: Might go a bit longer than most people are going to expect.

LANE CONDITION

Length:House Pattern and Wolf

Mx05 drilled 60 x 4 ¼ x 20 pap used 3 over and 5/8 up (I am right handed)
I was able to use the Mx05 on a house pattern and a shorter sport pattern, I did1 not change the box surface for either pattern.  On the house pattern I was able to paly as far right as I wanted and when I leaked the ball right and hit the dry boards and or the friction early the Mx05 started up a little earlier but didn’t over react.  If I missed in to much the oil would take it and I would hope for the best.  I like the reaction and the finish from the Mx05 and I look forward to adding surface to this just to see what will happen.

The shorter pattern I played on was Wolf 32ft pattern I really enjoyed seeing the ball get into a roll and steam toward the 1-3 pocket.  The higher volume of this pattern didn’t allow me to get way in and get it down the lane however I did have a couple shots were I thought it was gone and the Mx05 decided it was not going to be denied and finished through the pins nicely.  In my hand this is a good ball for medium to light conditions in my area and or when the lanes are breaking down and or drier.

I drilled this ball as an experiment to get down the lane further when the lanes are in transition.  I expected this ball to be more of a rolling ball versus skid flip.  Boy was I wrong.  This ball is giving me a flip motion and is very strong thru the pins.  This is the best ball I have thrown with a shuttle core and is a must for my tournament bag.  Great piece from Track!

BEING NEW TO THE TRACK STAFF I HAVENT GOTTEN A CHANCE TO THROW ALL OF THE BALLS I HAVE DRILLED AS OF YET, HOWEVER, I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO THROW THIS ONE QUITE A FEW TIMES!!! I BOWL THUMBLESS SO MY LAYOUT IS VERY SIMPLE I HAVE THE CG IN THE CENTER OF MY GRIP WITH THE PIN SLIGHTLY OVER MY RING FINGER...MY FIRST GREAT LOOK WITH THIS BALL CAME AT A 6 GAME MARATHON WITH A COMPLETELY CLIFFED VERSION OF VIPER, OUTSIDE OF 8 HOOKED TREMENDOUSLY AND THE MIDDLES WERE SUPER TIGHT, TOWARDS THE END OF THE BLOCK I WAS ABLE TO USE THIS BALL WITH GREAT SUCCESS!!! THE BALL CLEARED THE FRONTS WITH EASE, I WAS ABLE TO THROW IT TO THE DRY KNOWING IT WAS GONNA CLEAR AND NOT BOUNCE TOO HARD OFF THE FRICTION AND WHEN IT MADE ITS MOVE IT MADE IT VERY CONTROLLED BUT STRONG...SCORES WERE VERY LOW AT THIS EVENT AND I WAS ABLE TO CREATE A VERYYYY GOOD SHOT WITH THIS PIECE WHEN EVERYONE ELSE WAS FISHING AND MANAGED TO SHOOT 480 FOR THE LAST 2 TO SNEAK INTO THE FINALS...THIS BALL IS A MUST HAVE IN YOUR BAG FOR TOURNAMENTS AND YOU DAILY LEAGUE PLAY...THE BALL CLEARS THE FRONT TREMENDOUS AND MAKES A MOVE THAT IS STRONG YET PREDICTABLE AND IT HITS LIKE A TRUCK...GRAB THIS BALL!!!

Transition Ball Of Choice!

The Track MX05 is a good transition ball. I have both pin-up and pin-down drillings on this ball – and I have not had a ton of personal success with this ball on fresh patterns (although I know others have). Sometimes balls can be limited by the physical abilities of the bowler (ha-ha). However, when the head oil dissipates, I have been able to successfully use the pin-down ball on medium sport patterns…while the pin-up MX05 gives me outstanding length – and because of the lower differential  – a very controlled backend reaction without losing punch.

I would not recommend this ball – either with polish or with surface – for fresh oiled patterns unless you already have a lot of revs. However, if you are in need of an outstanding transition ball for the 2nd half of a tournament block or the later part of league night to get down the lane and not overreact in the backend…the MX05 would be near the top of my list.
