The Track Strata is really versatile asymmetric ball.  I have had the luxury of drilling up a Track Proof, a Strata and an Ebonite Aero.  I would say that the Strata strikes a balance between these other two balls.  The Strata offers a medium-paced response to friction, which lends it control of the midlane.  This ball responds well to changes with my release if I want it to continue a bit more, or roll a bit more forward, the core allows for me to manipulate it and make it do what I want.  Players with high rev rates, and players that have a lot of grip pressure will appreciate the way the Strata rolls off of friction, it does not overreact when it encounters friction very easily.  It shapes and continues very well for an asymmetric ball, and it rolls very hard and hits really well.  I carry more of the “off-hits” with this ball than with the Aero or the Proof, even though I like those balls for their own merits.

Mid lane traction, strong backend on heavier volume patterns.

The Strata is Track’s first top-end release of 2020. The Proof performed like the highest priced balls but was sold at a great value. The designers had the challenging task of exceeding the Proof’s performance with this release, and we’re all very excited with the results. The Strata provides the ideal blend of strong mid lane with continuous backend. To get the desired performance, the Track design team started with the new Strata asymmetric core, and the strongest Q.R. cover to date, QR-11 Solid. The addition of DynamiCore for extra hitting power and Durability Optimization Technology (DOT) for worry free drilling with your favorite layout, are always added benefits to help us get higher scores.

The Strata has an out of box surface of 500/1000 and paired up with the core/cover combination, as well as my layout of 45x4.5x35, gives me the exact ball reaction Track Bowling has intended on heavier volume patterns and longer patterns that I may encounter when I’m competing in tournaments. It’s a little too much ball for my league that I roll in, even on those nights when the lanes seem to be more slick and a ball with traction is needed, but when I add a little bit of polish I’m able to get the ball to read the mid and back a little later and that makes the Strata a viable option for league.

I have to admit, with it’s Grey/Sky/Black colors, the Strata has one of the best color schemes that I’ve seen in a long time and is one of the best looking balls I’ve ever seen. Looks amazing as the colors blend while it’s going down the lane and even when it’s stationary on the ball rack.

Premium traction with enough energy left to make a strong move in the backend makes the Track Strata an easy choice for the heaviest of oil patterns.

The Strata is on another level when it comes to versatility in my opinion, I was able to use the Strata on a fresh house shot and the ball didn’t show signs of quitting.  Granted I only used it for one game however, the Strata made it out that one game is the point!!  The finish through the pins caught the eye of a few bowlers which lead to them asking “what ball is that and how is it working dull” that lets me know the Strata demanded attention.  I changed the surface to 5k (wet 1000/2000/3000/4000) just to see what the Strata can do with a completely different look.  Lo and behold the Strata is the same ball with and without surface, please let me explain.  The Strata didn’t skid to far for me, nor did it hit like a 2lb ball hitting 5lb pins.  I was really impressed with the shape and finish from the Strata.  Versatility you say absolutely.  The Strata was used on sport pattern as well, I have to say the Strata will let you know if it is going to be to early or just not enough.  When a reaction is readable that is a ball I want in my bag everywhere I go.
