At our shop we often try and point out the best 'bang for your buck' balls, this is one of those balls. We drilled a stomp with the pin and c.g. 3 3/8 from the axis in a 'flip leverage' layout. (Moe Pinel) We took the shell to 1500 and polished it with Finesse. With this layout and shell we tested the ball on three conditions, synthetic lanes with 35 ft. of oil and dry backends, synthetics with a days worth of carrydown and the heads oiled and wood lanes that were walled up. On the dry backends the ball hooked a bit soon, which really smoothed out the overall reaction. The Stomp had quite a large flare, six to seven inches, which no doubt contributed to the early arc. We felt that the Stomp wasn't bad on this shot but we didn't feel like we would be able to stay with it very long because the head oil wasn't heavy enough. The synthetic lanes after they had carried down and the heads were oiled gave us a great shot. The Stomp played well from the track all the way to the 22nd board. The carry was very good and there was enough oil on the front part of the lane to keep it on line without any extra force. On the walled up lanes (wood) the ball fought a brave fight but with too smooth a shell and too much polish, it wasn't able to handle all the oil. With a shell change it was okay from the track but we were still unable to move into the oil. Another thing we noticed during our testing was how much this ball's motion reminded us of the Columbia Rage but stronger. We really liked this ball and again for the money it's as good as it gets.
