Initial thoughts on the Inertia
« on: August 18, 2006, 01:03:37 PM »
I did not get to throw the ball very much guys.....as soon as I get some more games on it I will post a mini review.

Layout 4in PIN from PAP 2inches above my midline, 4 1/2 MB from PAP

For being highly polished it really rolls "true"....but it had ALOT of movement at the first sniff of friction.

The backend is a tad below the equations. If I had to place it in the lineup right now I would say it is between the Machine and the Equation. Those of you that have used the Artillery know that is fits there as well----there is a difference though, the Inertia gives a totally different look on the lane....similiar early read of the Artillery, but more movement in the backend.

The biggest thing that made me curious and anxious about the release of this ball is the coverstock. After brief use all I can mention is that it has a huge "footprint"(thickness of a track or flare line). I can only wonder what it would do with a surface adjustment DOWN in grit.

Thanks for the initial thoughts on this ball Carl. Wondering with what I'm happy with so far if this will fill any needs in my bag. I'm guessing with the peak particle coverstock, it can handle a decent amount of oil, but it's not meant for true floods. Would you categorize this closer to medium arcing nature for the look of the ball? Would it slot above the Slash and Equation in an arsenal you think? Just trying to decide if I need to add this one to my bag, I may have to move other stuff out if I get this when it comes out next month.

Matt,

I believe the ball has a true arcing nature to it(and considering it is asymmetrical that could definately be accomplished)...but the OOB finish on the ball just allows for incredible backend.

WITHOUT question it will fit a slot above the Slash and Equation. I think it does that OOB...without adding surface to the ball.

I will be posting more SOON.

Hey Carl,

I watched my teammate Mike Webber who is on Track's Amateur staff as well throw the Inertia Thursday night and wow! I can see where this ball out backends the Equation! Mike put it out to the gutter at a different house than I usually bowl at and this ball had enough energy retention to make it back and mix up the 1-3 pocket! I will have this ball, no doubt about it!

After watching carl throwing it tonight I must say that OOB the INERTIA will just want to skid snap. Yet I also think that if you drill it an take off the polish it would be a nice early rolling ball. Yet to me I would much like to try one OOB with my favorite layout. I must say that I also gave carls a try and it rolled realy nice. I also love the hit of this ball. I think it kinda has the hit of the animal witch I havent seen in a while. Yet I dont think i have seen a ball work like this one in a long time.

Rick, I would suggest starting with 3 holes. One for the thumb and two for the fingers. Hope this helps..
