...but how to drill them?
Freak-A-Zoid: 3.5oz top, 4.75" pin
Rule GP2: 1.75 top, CG is basically in line with Pin-MB...3" pin
Arsenal Angular: 1.75 top, 4" pin
Heat: Hasn't arrived yet, but I'm expecting a 4" pin.
Here's a link to my reviews of current Track equipment:
http://www.ballreviews.com/Reviews/ReviewerReviews.asp?UserID=20600 I also have a Rule and an Xception, but they don't figure prominently into my tournament arsenal.
Here's my situation: I'm bowling regularly in the PBA's Eastern Region (it's my 3rd season), and I've been bowling fairly well in tournaments and regionals over the past 6-7 months. I currently have a sponsor (thanks Dad
), and since I've had a little more success than I anticipated this year, I'm starting to think about sponsorship from a ball company in a year or 18 months. I currently throw the Track equipment that I mentioned previously in the reviews, along with the Rule and Xception in league at times, and I also have some non-Track stuff that I have had success with, namely a couple of V2 Pearls and the Zone Classic. Track is my first preference for a ball company, so I'm trying to get a good tournament arsenal together exclusively from Track that will help me decide if I want to pursue a potential sponsorship from them in the future.
Can you guys help me with some layout ideas? I want the Rule GP2 to be drilled stronger than my first GP2...that's the only thing I'm sure of. The one I have now is great, but I could use one that's "REALLY" aggressive on complete floods. For the Arsenal Angular, I'm thinking of a control layout of some sort because I don't like flippy reactions on tougher patterns...would be open to a surface change as well if needed. For the Freak-a-Zoid, I'm open to almost anything...I've heard that it has a "V2-like" reaction, and I do love my V2 Pearl...and for the Heat, I'm thinking it would work well on the short (#2) pattern that we bowl on.
Thanks for your thoughts and consideration!
