How tunable is the coverstock on the 505A?

Very.  I didn't like the OOB surface so I have used P3000 abralon and P4000 abralon.  I prefer a slight scuff like that to tame down the over/under or squirt.

+1.  Box was unpredictable, took mine to 1000+polish and it evened out.  Still easy length.

OOB mine had such a hard finish it was almost uncontrollable.  The pro shop scuffed up the track area with either a 2000 or 4000 pad.  Still has great length and a hard finish but now I can control it better.  Great ball for medium to lighter conditions.
