So now that the 920A came out to the public earlier this week I feel that I can do a solid review on all 3 balls with the exact same layouts:
MY SPECS:
Right Handed
16lbs
18.5 mph ball speed
PAP - 5 1/4 x 1 3/8 up
Med-High Rev rate
DRILLINGS USED: 5 x 3 3/4 x 3" pin buffer
PATTERN USED: Synthetics Original Brunswick Anvil lane 40 ft Top hat house pattern - 70 units in the middle - tapering out to 12 units on the outside
*** Also 2nd shift broken down house pattern (alot of carrydown)
505A: This ball rolls very good for me getting through the heads with ease and having a very hard arc on the backend. I found with my ball speed, 2000 Abralon was perfect on this ball.
On the fresh pattern the 505A is a bit to over/under on the fresh pattern although once the shot carries down this ball is the first out of my bag.
-2nd shift carrydown league: The 505A is the only ball that I have been rolling since its release (until the 920, continue reading). This ball is super clean through the heads and cuts through the carrydown like its non-existent.
715A: With this ball and the same drill patterns on the FRESH I have found that the 715 rolls much better in a little more oil. I can stand about 5 boards to the left target the same area with my eyes and get a very continuous ball reaction. I also worked with the coverstock on this ball and I have had the most success with 4000 abralon no polish.
-2nd shift with carrydown: This ball is still a little too skid flippy as I find myself leaving alot of corner pins and if I miss a little in the oil Im staring down 2-10s and 2-8-10s.
*I know this seems a little backwards but Im just reporting it as I see it.
920A: I just drilled this ball and only rolled it on the 2nd shift carrydown condition. In practice I pulled out old faithful 505A and went: bucket - 2-10, flat 10. I immediatly went to the 920A and hoped for the best. Well the best it was and more!!! I moved 9 boards left - 3 with eyes and played in the puddle of oil all night.. and this ball was super strong and super continuous. On carrydown this ball is absolutly as advertised!!!
RECAP from my findings:
920 A is almost 9 boards stronger in the backend then the 505A.
715 A is 4-5 boards less on the backend then the 920 A
I hope this helps anyone looking to purchase any of these balls. The 3 balls in the "A" line are definitly different and will give looks that alot of bowlers should carry in their bag!! Great job Track keep up the great work!!!
I will also post this on trackbowling.com (so nobody reads it twice)
