Once again, folks, if someone doesn't have a userid on facebook, they cannot see whatever url you are pointing to.
Comment:
Why in the name of all that's bowling would a bowling company put their video on a kiddy playground like facebook and twitter, etc?
Is this ball intended only for teenagers and children?

Well if you don't want to frequent that "kiddy playground" you can always go to their website. There's information about the 505A there as well.

There's no video. They just put it there first because of the amount of people that have signed up on Facebook to follow Track. The ball is on there website as well.

Nope! Remember, the number naming system is supposed to cater to the competitive, technical bowler. -)
I made absolutely no reference to the name.
I meant about only putting the information on facebook first, as the original poster had said.

Track's got it on their website. RG and Diff. is about the same as the 505C but it's 2000 grit polished and performance additive (maybe a hint of solid or mica). This looks to be a angular version of the 505C. Time to get me a new one next month.

would this be a good replacement for a hex-plosion.
Thinking of retiring it (still works great) looking/wondering.

Hmm...polished 2000 abr shell...shuttle core....sounds like the original Kinetic with a new name to me.

Ok, there's a brief description about the ball and I'm trying to under this statement:
The 505A, which is the companion to the 715A, features the same MP GEN3 coverstock as the 505C, but with a pearl additive that gives the 2000 grit Abralon polished ball more length.
“The 2000 grit gives the ball more of a grip on the lane while the pearl additive keeps it from gripping the lane as much ball with this surface would normally,†Kosby said. “We’ve balanced it using opposites.â€
So if this ball is already a pearl with the coverstock of the 505C how does it have "performance pearl additive"? Or am I missing something here?

It has the same base cover of MP Gen 3 Reactive Pearl with a Performance Pearl additive to help it retain energy better and have a much stronger responce to the friction when it encounters it down the lane leading to a more angular reaction.

I know not much of track. I just know their new balls are pretty. I saw this thread on teh home page of this website, and figured I'd give it a read to see what their new ball is like. After reading all this technical naming numbering BS, I will never ever buy a Track ball.
If someone in Track's marketing department is reading this, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a better job of naming and classifying your bowling balls other than interchangeable names and numbers. In fact, use something unbelievably easy like this:
Awesome Line: All the strongest gear here
Killer Line: All the middle of the road gear here
Sweet Line: All the entry level/weakest gear here

Hope this ball is the light oil answer that Track needs. The 715A is a great ball when the shot opens up and you have to play deeper angles. If the 505A allows the bowler to play further right and maintain optimal entry angle it will be great.
Love the use of numbers in the name to describe the balls intended reaction. Bowlers that purchase balls based on names and colors are not trying to win, they're trying to look good. I enjoy bowling against them.

IMO, this will be the start of total cutomer confusion. I see bowlers referring to the new Track balls to "the green one" or "the red one"...
Good luck with this naming strategy!

As long as the bowlers pay enough attention, the naming system will have no problem...yes, the 505C and the 505A are obviously very close to each other name-wise, but fortunately, they look NOTHING alike and i'm sure they'll react differently as well.
After throwing the 930T for awhile now, it's definitely a reaction that I was sorely missing in my bag (fortunately it doesn't stay in my bag very long, but that's another story...lol), it VERY much mirrors the reaction of another company's hybrid ball that i've had a TON of success with, just handling a LOT more oil.
I'm very much looking forward to the 505A, as I have a THS league that is apparently allergic to oil, and this should give me a pretty solid reaction that I can still get in with when the "smelly" hybrid is too much...
Obviously I'm not anticipating this being a ball for the super-burn, but if it clears the heads nicely, and makes the corner, that'll be good enough for me!

Moreso the Kinetic Pearl for me, just without the super low RG (2.46) that was in the KP.
My guess would be that if a 505T comes out, it would mirror the Kinetic Energy. That would be great, as the older one I have is starting to see its end.

In response to all of the confusion regarding the number naming system...I have quite a number of customers that come into the shop all the time and when they see the numbers on the bowling balls, they know right off hand that it is a Track ball. The advantage to the numbering system is that most customers off the bat know which brand of ball they are looking into. For my new customers, more often than not understand the science behind a bowling ball when I go into explaining the number system in reference to the performance in each of the bowling balls. I think this is a great idea on Track's behalf and I can also see how and where some people would get confused with this concept. God Bless!
