920A vs 920T
« on: June 05, 2010, 03:57:15 AM »
I know this is kind of a question just for staff guys. I havent gotten my 920T''s yet and I am on the shelf for a couple weeks following surgery but I was wondering if any staff guys have drilled their 920T''s just like one of their 920A''s and could give me a side by side comparison?

Thanks

I happened to have a 920a undrilled when I got my 920t's in.  I punched them both up identical and the 920A is still much more angular off the spot than the 920T.  The 920T is much more rolly of the spot.  Also it's much easier to use it longer than the 930T

Dave
How much earlier does it read compared to the 920A?

Im trying to get a comparison to see if i want to drill it like one of my 920A's or try something a bit different. Im going nuts not being able to bowl right now because all the new toys are coming. Should be back on the lanes in a couple weeks.

I know that mine aren't exactly drill identical, but the 920T is way easier to read. Honestly the 920T goes through the front almost just as good as the 920A. The difference is the reaction off of the spot. The 920T is definitely more rolly. It could handle more oil than the 920A.

Billy, I know for me I have both the 920T, and 920A drilled 35*x5"x35*. Weight holes in P2 positions to keep them legal. The 920A for me is my ideal ball for carry down. I have yet to come across a carrydown situation where it didnt get back. I get some midlane from it but most of the move with it is in the backend. The 920T covers about the same amount of boards overall but it cleans the heads and makes most of its motion in the midlane I would say a good 7-8 feet earlier, then my 920A. The 920T still has pop on the backend but it is a good 4-5 weaker off the spot then the 920A but it doesnt need to be that strong off the spot mostly because it has already started to makes its move so it doesnt need the extra kick to get up.

i am not a staffer or a 230 avg bowler.dont know all the physics of it.the 920a is more stonger of a ball to me because of the duller finish.the 920t is more consistant.i mean you can stay with the ball all 3 games on a house shot.my 920t is drilled up a little stronger than the t.it doesnt hook as much.to me the 920t was made for a ball that you can use all three games on a ths.which is good news you dont now need to take two to three balls for league.i thought i would just give my opioin.by the way scoot tell michelle mineo i said hi dont you sponser her team.

I have to update my profile, but here is my stats

Rev rate 460
axis rotation 71*
axis tilt 13*
Ball speed 18mph
PAP: 4 1/2 right, 1 9/16 up

Z, both the 920A and the 920T are 4000 Abralon OOB. Also our shop may sponser that team, but I will tell her hey anyway seeing how Michelle is my God Mother.
