919c vs 716c for heavier oil
« on: January 08, 2012, 05:56:38 AM »
OK, so I recently switched to Track from Storm.....

I have the 919c , the 811a, 503c and 300T...     I have a 716C comming in tuesday...   And might get a 916AT (idk) but my thoughts are maybe to look into the 920T or 930??

Now I ordered the 716c, to drill up for a heavier / longer oil pattern.    And take the surface down to 2k

I plan on doing a Pin down drilling with the MB off in a strong position...    I'm doing this only because the 919c has a pin up drilling, and after using it on the PBA blue pattern yesterday, i noticed it seemed to just push a bit too far down the lane before making the turn.  Now I also have not messed with the surface on the 919, but have thought about taking it down to 2k..

My only reason for not messing with the 919's surface is because I like the reaction I get with this ball on our house shot and I did bowl on " middle road " also and got a awesome reaction with the 919....

I have not owned a 920T, but I had a 930T & a 916AT. My double thumb 715T will handle more oil than any Track ball that i have ever owned even back to the Animal & GP2.

Well I wanted to get a 715T when i originally ordered the first 4 track balls I got, but the 715T isnt made anymore....

So I went with the 811A... I picked up the 716C as a fill in for the 715t, figuring I can take the surface down to 2k, and see how it works...

The 716T should be available this spring/early summer if you still need a soup ball. If the new 7T is stronger than the old, you may not need the 9 series - my 2 cents.

What layout did you use on your 919? Going pin down will not actually make a ball hook more. It will simply smooth out the friction and allow you to stand closer to/if not on top of the friction. The best way to increase hook is to reduce the pin buffer/second angle if you are using dual angle layouts. Also decreasing the pin to pap distance. These will both help increase flare and overall hook.  As for the 716c, the ball has a ton of pearl in it, once dulled up I would believe that it still wouldn't be able to create friction as well as the 919. I could be wrong though. I haven't drilled my 919 yet. I loved my 715t, and believe that the 716t will be another amazing ball from Track.

Hope this helps

Oh yeah, also the C in the 919C is supposed to be for Continuous. And the 716 stands for Control. So I gotta believe that 919 is supposed to be stronger based on Tracks rating system.

*sorry for the typo. Meant to say the solid in the 716. And 919 is a hybrid.
