508A
« on: April 02, 2012, 12:16:35 PM »
Well I threw this last night and have a couple of comments about it.

First, like all balls, it all comes down to the operator.  Had I not made a few errors I'd easily have shot 720 - as it was I was very happy with 663.
I found I could play basically where I do with my 715T.  The 508 was much longer and much sharper off the break.  Basically this ball seems to be exactly what I was looking for - something that I can move deep with and still be sure that it will turn to the hole coming out of the pattern.  The one thing about it that I'm going to have to be very aware of is that, unlike most of my other equipment, less is certainly more with this one.  I started with my normal aggressive release (i.e., I probably hit the ball way too much with my other stuff) and as the night went on I found that simply rolling the ball out of my hand was much more effective.  Certainly a keeper.

One more note: I started buying Track balls because they were, consistently, candidates for the ugly ball award (really, I did).  The 508A fails this test.
