FWIW I think the 505A's breakpoint is going to be a lot sharper than the Dark Star's with the same drilling.  The 505A is probably closer to Nomad Pearl than to the Dark Star. If you liked the DS, they're still available.

as always, i agree with charlest

the 505a is more aggressive then the dark star with more backend

if anything the 505c is closer to the dark star imo but still you might find it a little stronger

they do still produce the dark star

Yes, as they posted above the 505A will have a much stronger and sharper backend and breakpoint then the Dark Star

I'm not too sure what can equally match the Dark Star in length and hook really the Dark Star kind of stands on it's own with the way it goes down the lane and reacts.

And they do still make the Dark Star so you can still get your hands on a new one man

I was thinking about that, too. Maybe the Columbia Freeze. Not exact, but close. The Freeze seems to have 2 personalities: some people call it a skid/flip ball and some call it smooth. Maybe it just does what you do to it?

I know what you mean, the Freeze has a little more bite in the backend then the Dark Star. Hmmmm... Maybe the new Nomad Dagger? I'm not to sure. I'll be sure to try it out soon and compare.

I think you can take another ball but give it a more of a longer layout to kind of match the roll of the Dark Star lol, Im not to sure, but that has a chance of working

Maybe can match the low and high differentials with the Dark Star and use the same grit and cover. Only thing that'll be different will be the core lol xD but... Still would be different haha xD

I have loved the Dark Star since i got it! Its great when the shot breaks down, effortless through the heads and a very smooth but angular break to the pocket, Can handle medium to light conditions, only bad if heads are completely burnt

Well, first of all, why are you wanting to replace the dark star? Is it not reacting like you want it to? Have you cleaned it after each session, then resurfaced it to restore the reaction? There are some pretty good cleaners on the market that do really well in cleaning a balls surface.

the closest thing to a dark star ive seen is a motiv qz2 (ive thrown both)

the dagger is way more hook then the dark star/riot
