Lane conditions:
THS- wood lanes(roughly 30 yo) 44 feet
Shark, Viper, Cheetah-bruns syth. provilane I believe
Strengths(likes)-First of all the 715c is a very rolly and smooth ball. On the THS this was a good ball to start with to help me read the lane being somewhat easy down the lane with a nice smooth roll on the back. I got no angularity out of this at all on house conditions. Now the pba patterns is where I noticed the most difference...mainly with surface prep(usually the case but hear me out). On the cheetah the best approach imo would be either 2k or 4k abralon depending on the area you''re trying to play. With the oob finish I either had too much squirt outside and wouldn''t read the end of the pattern very well. Now the oob finish was ok on the viper even playing more of the middle of the lane..it was clean down lane and had enough pop to make the corner but still was very predictable. Now on the shark even trying every grit from 500 to 4k it didn''t seem to have enough overall strength but it obviously was still smooth. The colors on this ball are also very nice...good color combo that gets peoples attention.
Weaknesses(dislikes)-This ball tends to be a bit stronger on THS then you would think...I had quite a gap between the 715c and the 715a. Not always a bad thing but you almost feel like there should be something inbetween. Also the "pearl essence" added to the cover makes it hard to convice my customers that the ball rolls pretty early. It has the pearl "look" so people expect a pearl reaction.
Comparison: Compared to the 715A the 715C is much much stronger overall..it''s earlier and much more rolly. If you''re wanting a stronger 505c than this is definitly it. Between the two layouts #1 was a tad stronger on the backend and a little cleaner down the lane.
Personal opinion: The 715c didn''t have a huge reaction on the shark but worked well on the viper and with surface tweeks could handle the cheetah. Now it was still smooth on all 3 and on THS this ball is the first out of my bag. After the first 2 games it usually ends up being two early and I drop to my 505a so I can still get the same shape just weaker.(715a won''t be as hard off of the spot and 505c is too big a gap.)
