Yes......I have thrown this ball. And I agree with Juggernaut....I call it Project X!
I am primarily a RotoGrip guy, so when my pro-shop guys encouraged me to try this piece, of course I did it with extreme bias. I had been having some problems with a lite oil, wet/dry shot. Been using a lot of particle pieces to control the backends which are totally unpredictable week to week. Got this ball last week and was told by them that it was a "medium" piece.
First of all, this is one of the prettiest pieces I have ever owned. I love throwing it, just because of its shelf appeal. Now to the good stuff. Threw this on my wet/dry shot and shot a 642 out the box! The ball is super clean thru the heads and dependably strong down lane. Played down 7, up the back of the ball and the dam thing went brooklyn every time, but cleared the rack! Moved into the oil in the midlle and the ball just floated forever, but then made a smooth but very strong move to the pocket, clearing the rack! Moved inside to 28-33 and sent it to around 7 or 8 and this thing came back with authority.......clearing the rack!! People thought I was hooking the whole lane. Yup, yup, this ball is impressive. Definitely got some folks asking about it.
Since I only shot 642 with this ball, first nite out, I thought to myself that this ball was nowhere near as strong as my pro-shop guys had told me. Yeas it was clean and smooth, and very defined, BUT.......
2nd nite out, on med-hvy oil shot in an AMF house. In this house I tried to keep it simple. I played 10, down and in, coming up the back of the ball. 1st game I shoot 236. Only left one ten-pin, the rest of the backrow pins were 8 pins and 9 pins. This ball not only drew attention because of it's looks, it had that distinctive "CRAAAAAACK" whenever I struck!! I haven't heard that sound since I stopped throwing Legends balls!
On this pattern, I really got to see the strength of this piece, and realized it was a skid/flip maniac! This ball covers a lot of territory very quickly when used on a higher volume of oil! Now I am impressed. I ended up shooting 660 with only 2 ten pins for the nite. Not bad at all. Had my teammates and people two lanes over asking me about this ball!
2rd nite. A lite oil to dryish house. Used this ball with success for 4 frames. It carried the world, but as soon as the lanes started to track up, the backend on this piece became uncontrollable, and I started leaving all kinds of back row pins. In the bag she goes!
So far, i love this thing. It will tell you right away when to keep going, and when to put her up! This is gonna be a prominent fixture in my bag, for sure. I really love the way it just craccks the pins! No doubt, they are going to sell a bunch of these. They were actually handed out to staffers a couple of weeks ago. I just happened to overhear them talking about the piece, and pestered them to death until they let me get one!
Another real nice ball from Track. Track seems to be real hot right now!
Duct tape is like 'The Force'. It has a light side and a dark side, but it still holds the universe together.
