811 C/T

What are the BR.com community impressions on this ball so far. I just got one and have drilled it with a medium aggressive drilling, letting the ball do what it is supposed to do. I am currently bowling in a Sport pattern league and am trying it. We are supposed to be bowling on Cheetah, but the center plays very slick, and the lane topography and THS memory doesn't allow the outside boards to have the dry "kick" that you are supposed to have on Cheetah. In fact if you get it out to 1-3 boards, you are more likely to wind up in the gutter, then the pocket. This ball has worked pretty well so far in allowing me to play straight up the outside, giving me enough midlane to start up and continuing through the pins once exiting the pattern. Just wondering what others are seeing with it and the overall impressions people have on it. I have only thrown it about 2 weeks now, so still getting used to it. Thanks.

Jorge,

I manage an EBI shop, and the majority of bowlers who have bought the 811 ended up having to do a surface change, but after the adjustment the ball has been super.

I think that the cover is just so clean that most bowlers wont match up to it unless their lanes are on the dyer side, I have taken some down as low as 1000 grit then polish back up with factory finish and they roll great. As a side note with the lower grit it really came alive on tougher tournament conditions.

The Track 811c/t is a great ball. I just drilled one up pin under ring with the MB on val. I wanted this ball to compensate my Defiant Soul which are very close of being the same type of ball. I have my Defiant Soul drilled pin over ring with the mb 3 inches right of thumb. The purpose was to have these two compliment each other. I changed the surface of the 811c/t because i was going to practice on the national shot. The ball revs up early, strong midlane and has a nice continuous arc on the backend. I see using this ball on med to long patterns with strip backends.
